DMT is everywhere. Most make it from brazilian root bark, but there are acceptable plant species that even reach up through midwest USA. Here in Wisconsin, phalaris grass(those long prairie grasses that you make whistles out of between your thumbs) is an invasive grass covering 90% of our ground vegetation. In the spring I’m going to ask a farmer if I can help him care for his prairie in exchange for some grass. They usually keep it in check seasonally with controlled burns, so there’s really no reason not to put it to use.
So I have heard alot about DMT and am thinking about trying it. I want to know what some of your guys stories and theories are about it. So far I havent heard of anyone dying from taking too much so thats one of the reasons I am ok with doing it. Although I have heard it can make you think you are dead. I just want to know if its worth trying, something to stay away from while doing it, some of your guys trips. The works. Just let me know anything and everything you wanna tell me about DMT.
I might. I just am pretty lazy and felt like having those that wanted to come to this thread and tell me. Plus this one is fresh so that is more likely to catch the eyes of maybe some people that just tried it. But anyway.. I’ll see what I can find on here :)
It’s pretty nice. Don’t worry about things to avoid, because if you do it properly you will leave your body, and you won’t have much control anyway. I think an unpleasant trip on dmt would be extremely rare.
I can’t wrap my head around the trips though, they’re incredibly weird and don’t make sense at all but at the same time they make perfect sense. And you don’t know if you’re just seeing crazy shit, imagining, having an encounter with your own brain, or visiting a different world, or whatever it might be that’s happening. And the senses are so distorted.
Like one trip I had, I encountered something that was either aliens or gods. They were invisible, but I somehow knew their colours and shapes, their way of communicating was completely silent but also incredibly loud. It was just a major mindfuck, and I felt completely lost, ego death and all. And at the same time the whole thing seemed so real, but I’m pretty sure it was just my imagination.
It’s a very powerful drug. You should definitely try it if you feel like it.
Hi Emily! I tried DMT about one year ago, and I do recommend it. I wouldn’t say that the feeling of death is present during the trip at all. It’s hard to describe, but it seems to connect you deeply with your inner self. I wouldn’t recommend taking it while you’re alone, but maybe with a couple of people you trust. My brother and a very close friend sat with me during the trip and talked to me, just repeating very positive things while I laid in the grass. It may not be the same for everyone, but the trip was extremely colorful and bright, and soo immersive. I wasn’t really aware of what was happening until the end. The strangest thing was that I’ve read and been told from friends that the trip only lasts about 15 to 20 minutes, but I was gone for almost 50 minutes. It didn’t take as much out of me as shrooms or LSD, for sure, but it really lifted my mood, which stuck with me for several months. The one and only complaint I have about it is that the taste is TERRIBLE! It seems like inhaling burning plastic and it’s so hard to keep it in your lungs for more than a couple of seconds, which isn’t long enough to get the desired effect. So, if you can power through the bad taste, it’s a wonderful experience. :)
Hi Emily! I’m glad to see people hearing so much about DMT, because it’s certainly an experience I’d want to share with every one that is ready. After first hearing about it, I read for months about the spiritual, mental and physical effects it has. I longed to experience the ego death I read about, and decided to teach myself how to extract the essence from plants. Since then, I’ve gone in a couple dozen times and still can’t say I fully understand it. It’s consistently inconsistent, leading me to believe it really may be the ‘spirit molecule’, since the experience is subjectively different for everyone at different moments–your mindset is your launchpad. The only preparation you really need is teaching yourself to let go and resist nothing.
Like most others, I’d lump my experiences into either breakthroughs, or not. A breakthrough is when you get enough of the DMT in you at once to not know whether your eyes were open or closed. It’s always a powerful and euphoric experience, but you know when you break through because the trip is 50x more intense. For this reason, I recommend always shooting for the breakthrough because shattering your expectations is very enlightening and orgasmic. THIS is the ego death we seek.
I don’t like using words like god or enlightenment, but there’s nothing that can describe the warm, overwhelming truth that you feel during the experience. It feels familiar, like a memory from your childhood about running around outside in the sunshine. A divine light that you can feel the presence of, guiding your eternal innocence.
I did it a few months back, highly recommend it.
Psychedelics tend to be seen as spooky and are given a bad rap because too many people have bad trips.
Just be smart, stay within your limits, never do more than the suggested dose the first time, and always remember, IT WILL COME TO AN END EVENTUALLY.
The high only lasts for a little while, and was the most visually stimulating experience of my life, few other drugs came close to the intensity that I got from just those few short moments, and days after the trip, my perception of reality was altered significantly, for the better.
Every trip, even a bad trip, is a learning experience, just don’t be frightened and make sure you are surrounded by good people.
@nikola It’s like a lucid nap. You can take it any way you like. The pure, freebase DMT is smoked, while the salt can be snorted, injected or ingested. Either way you’re hopefully incapacitated in 15+ minutes of visionary bliss.
I’ll try to compile some factual details about a trip, but it gets so personal that the words I use to describe it wouldn’t be proper justice:
I carefully measure the same dose as always, and sprinkle it on top of some weed in a bong. I then sandwich it between another thin layer of weed. *The heating process is important; dimethyltryptamine melts and evaporates at a much lower temp than any herb you throw in with it. DO NOT torch the bowl, if the dry crystals catch fire they’re gone before you’ll be able to inhale anything. This seems to be the biggest obstacle keeping inexperienced users from having a successful trip.
I personally don’t care for a spotter or a sitter. I don’t know what one would be able to help with because the experience is so internal and personal. I can barely speak while tripping on it, much less negotiate help. I’ve never felt it necessary in the trip though, because it never goes bad. The worst to expect is a ‘gray’ trip where you didn’t note anything meaningful from your hallucinations, that you can remember anyway. I still enjoy these trips for the ‘reborn’ feeling on the comedown.
From here I could branch into many different angles of the trip depending on whether you are alone or tripping together in a small group, inside or outside, music or no music, etc. They all have so much to offer, but dmt is already pretty uncontrollable, so I get the most out of it when I eliminate variables that keep me from focusing. Being mentally and physically comfortable are important so you aren’t anxious about where the dmt will take you this time.
The bong fills with thick white smoke and I hold it, counting 1…2…3… by 4 I’m feeling it around my chest, a bouyancy that is spreading down my ribs and up my neck. I forget that I’m counting and hold it for maybe another 5 seconds, exhaling the effects down my legs and arms. My fingers feel slow as I spark up again and go for a bigger hit(you wanna clear it all within a minute, so if you took a long time heating your first hit, catch up). I hold it deep for a few seconds and am already being pulled away as I take a third.
I set down the bong and lie back, noting how fluid my movements seem, like I’m underwater or weightless. I look around the room and watch reality warp. The drywall grain starts to flow like an ocean, and the light scattered on the wall by hundreds of green LED’s in my rope light begin to glow brighter and twist around. There’s a hissing static that I just realize has been building, accelerating into a high-pitch whine. Your memory is pretty much out the window at this point, and cognition/movement is difficult. Like a dream, you slip into this sleep-state as the growing sound pops and you’re inside your head.
You’re 30 seconds in now, and the next 300 are totally mindblowing. There’s a large potential of things you could see happen, but they don’t always happen, so it’s important not to raise your expectations or you may become frustrated that it’s not what you want or that you’ve underdosed. My most recent trip was while on an MAOI that potentiates the experience even further. The acoustic music playing awakened these dancing colored balls that were spinning in a circle and pulsing from a center. Their energy growing with the momentum of the song, flaring and bouncing to the beat. It’s so beautiful that I can feel myself smiling, and the thought of my physical self smiling makes me laugh, and the sound of my voice is like a force of creation, making the colors spin and dance in a more complex way.
The scene changes and I’m in a room with a few figures acting out a dialog I can’t hear to a memory I’ve never had. The skit plays in fast forward and then gets tossed out of left field to reveal another behind it. The scene plays and once it’s over it’s thrown out. About 10 acts are played before the trip moves on(probably ~20 seconds real-time), and my mind’s scrambling to decide whether they even mattered.
The scene changes to this network of golden needles that all seem to be connected as they spin and shift at sudden angles. I’m reminded of the gears of a clock, or that I’m looking at the wiring behind reality itself.
Scene changes to this blue orb above my head. It was like a sun that I could feel the light of. I don’t remember seeing anything else, but I remember looking around the room and having my focus pulled back to the blue entity, as if commanded to pay attention like an ADD child.
During the trip everything seems more real than reality itself. Like a dream, you don’t really know, or perhaps just forget that you’re in it until you’re coming back out if it. When you comedown you immediately begin to forget what you saw and may only be able to recall certain fragments. For a few minutes I’d advise just chilling and absorbing what happened. You’ll still feel the physical rushing of adrenaline for up to an hour, but the energy is so clean, a feeling of being reborn. I’m super talkative at this part, and try to piece together the trip to find some meaning in it. I feel more tuned into my spiritual self, and focus my energy more positively for the next few days.
Start to finish, you could have your life changed in 20 minutes.
^ Great analogy. Funny that you mention it, I’ve been trying to talk my color-blind friend into trying some because I’ve been curious what he’d see. The colors are superficially vibrant and real in the trip, perhaps dmt can play a tune on his visual cortex that his rods and cones cannot.
I believe so, Nikola. When you go to sleep, the pineal gland pumps out the dmt it has stored, spurring your dreams. When you awaken, your dreams fade and your pineal begins producing and storing more dmt throughout your day for the night. If you do not sleep for several days, the dmt build up spills into your waking life and you will begin to dream/hallucinate while awake.
Thanks for the help guys!! I am very curious about how to smoke it as well. I think I am gonna have someone who knows how to do it be right there with me. What is the general price range for it as well? and since it lasts 20 to 40 minutes, is it a bad idea to smoke it again once you are back down? O and also, are you still able to talk while doing it? cause I would really like to be able to record my thoughts with a tape recorder but I dont know how easy it will be to say anything at all.
I’ve really been interested to try it too but I don’t know anybody who could get it or even know what it is half the time. I’ve heard there is a way to make your own, but I’m not all to sure about the process of doing that either.
Here are some interesting videos I’ve found before.
I haven’t taken this drug yet and I want to when I feel ‘ready’. I want to wait a few years, when I am more mature, and have had years of meditation behind me. Also, I would only do this in a shamanic style, hopefully in the amazon. I’m talking about ayahuasca by the way.
