Who was the coolest character you ever met in your dreams?
Once I met a Buddhist monk. I was walking by a park I grew up around. He had myself and several friends sit around him in front of someone’s house, on a patch of grass beneath a tree, between the sidewalk and city street. I asked him if we should really sit there, because it was in front of someone’s home. They might ask us to leave. He said, “Look at the birds. Does anyone ask them to leave?” Then I asked, “What if they call the cops?” and he answered, “The police are only slaves to the people. If I were a slave, I would do as I was told as well.”
I haven’t seen him in my dreams since, but I hope I do soon.
@staringatstars, now that u mention it, I once had a dream where i got shot in the back of my head, I was walking home and suddently felt like being followed (just like the real time i got robbed) and so i started to walk faster and suddently tried to run, but the bullet got to me and I felt a piercing pain, then it disipated as everything started to turn white (as I later figured was sunlight comming from the window on my room) but it was so real, I stood there with my eyes closed for almost a minute asking to myself “am I dead?” and touching my pillow until I figured it was only a dream, scary as hell
Oh and I once dreamt I killed a guy by accident I was carrying a box with broken grass, and he crashed with me on a hallway, pieces of glass pierced his body and he looked at me and then died, leaving me there with a “WTF!?” written all over my face…..I wonder if that random guy ever had this dream where he gets accidentally killed by a stranger O.o
Hmm, I dream of all sorts of people- both people I recall meeting and people I haven’t met.
One of the strangest and longest dreams I have had though was when I was about 10 or 11. I fell asleep in my dream twice, then became aware I was dreaming. When I had became aware I was with my dream brother and sister (in real life I have two younger brothers) they were around my age. Life was amazing in my dream it seemed like it lasted months in the last part of it (after I fell asleep twice). My “brother, sister” and I were walking down a street somewhere with palm trees and they were telling me there are alligators in the sewers. I told them I knew I was dreaming and they begged me not to wake up. I tried to wake up but couldn’t, I started feeling panicked after that and everything went black. Then I woke up and it was morning.
Hmm it’s only now that I’ve realised I don’t ever tend to dream about complete strangers. Although people in my dreams often look like strangers they are versions of people I know, or myself. I obviously dream about people I don’t know but they don’t take centre stage if that makes sense. For instance the zombies me and my friends are often battling in my dreams, they are strangers but don’t really have characters or personalities. But I guess if I had to choose, I would have to say zombies… purely because zombie apocalypse dreams are my favourite :)
I once fell in love with a man in a dream. I don’t remember much of the dream, but I remember his face. It was familiar but I don’t know him. He was very tall, like abnormally tall. He carried me at one point, and I felt safe in his arms.
In another completely unrelated dream, I was mauled by a Bengal tiger. It sucked. I woke up and couldn’t move for a long time.
I met an interesting character a few nights ago. He was like a mix between Tyler Durden and V from V for Vendetta. Longish brown hair and a baseball cap. Early twenties.
He quoted fight club, and I quoted back, which led to us essentially acting out the story. He was Tyler and I was Marla and sometimes the narrator. He had dialogue written in a composition book and i was piecing dialogue together from the novel. Something about his face looks slightly off-like it’s not real.
Suddenly i’m in “my” house (not my real house, but I can tell it’s my house). I look through the peephole and see him, and I open the door. I ask “who are you” several times, getting increasingly frustrated. He avoids the question, and leaves, but tapes a paper to my door. I look at the the paper, which indicates I am the deserving target of a hit.
I tear off the paper and run after him. In the distance he turns around and pulls out a gun, but I hold the paper up so he wont shoot. I ask him to tell me one thing, why he is doing all of this. He tells me to follow him.
We come to an auto garage, and I can’t remember what he tells me. But I look at his face, which has become really natural and attractive. He takes off the last bit of nose putty, and i realize his former face was a disguise.
The last thing I remember is him walking with his feet covered in some sort of yellow gel, like you would use to make a cast and mold, and he’s telling me the steps to some elaborate plan we’re about to partake in.
I’ve never been so focused on a dream character that didn’t look like someone I know In real life.
The most memorable dream character I ever met was a girl who in my dream lived in a house down the street from where I grew up. This was back when I had epic dream recall. I remembered this whole dream better than waking life. I just remember now that in my dream I loved this girl and the emotions were so intense. It was a crazy feeling that next morning knowing that I’d never meet her in waking life.
I typically dream all out sorta adventures..
though I definitely need to start keep a dream journal to increase my ability of retention.
My last dream however, I was there, and there were many powerful.. I guess “beings”.
Sorta like all those aliens in Dragon Ball Z and blow up planets with their fists.
I forgot his name, I know it started with an “A” and had a “Z” in it. But I remember how he looked.
He was beautiful. I think he might have died towards when I woke up… he told me there was something familiar about the other members of our little adventuring party.
I once had a dream that Buddha invited me and two of my friends over to Elvis’s house for tea and we all sat under a tree next to a chain link fence and smoked weed while having a long conversation about life. I wish I could remember more of it, it was definitely one of the most interesting dreams I’ve ever had.
Once when i was living in the woods i had a long, involved nightmare with many acts of daring-do. though thats beside the point. anyway the nightmare ended with me calling the cops on this freakish kidnapper cat-lady. they asked for the address of where i was so i dashed down the hallway of the apt. complex. I came up to a large crowd of people all standing still and looking in the same direction. no one responded as i demanded what the address was. this one man glanced at me, and he had a look of such serene benevolence that i was taken aback. without words he showed me what they were all looking at: it was a brass band playing the most heavenly music i had ever heard. i let go of the feelings of anxiety that had caused the nightmare and just listened. somehow i knew that this was what dying was like.
Last night, I had a dream that I was at a party with Jimi Hendrix, as well as Jesse Michaels from Operation Ivy. Also, Ricky and Julian from Trailer Park Boys were there, they were trying to convince my friend who recently lost his job to join them in selling weed.
I was in a post-apocalyptic wasteland and I murdered a dude for his stuff, dog-eat-dog style.
Then I got a good look at him and he looked like a hero; not a superhero, but a guy who was totally on his way to save the world.
I killed mankind’s savior…HAHAHA My bad!
The night before last I had a dream that I captured charizard in a poke ball (regular one I was stoked, didn’t have to use a master ball cus I’m a boss) and then went to a club with what looked like a bunch of mercenaries and we killed a bunch of gang members. I got shot and went down but then some dude was about to kill one of my troops so I willed the strength to get up then I took his head and smashed it on the ground till I killed him. It was fucked up, I’m usually such a peaceful person. I met a bunch of sasquatch in my Antarctic dream I had awhile ago when I was running away from a hunter who was trying to shoot me. They didn’t say anything though.
I find most dream characters are “actors” of the real versions of my daily life characters. Dream fakes, so beware of trusted dream characters… they probably dont know more than you…..unless youre lucid or astral dreaming. Then take it with a grain of salt.
The coolest one were always the scariest ones.
I remember one dream i had where venom was trying to catch me. I wasnt spiderman but i could shoot metal wiring from my wrists similar to his webs.
A creepy reoccuring one i have is freddy krugers skin… I will be having a dream and see freddys skin in a pile somewhere random, and when i see it everything get all weird, like he is watching me from somewhere else.
Aliens in my dreams are probably the most exciting&scary because they always involve crazy lights/spaceships/explosions/invasions/abductions.
a couple times i realized i was dreaming as i was talking to someone. one time it was this cute cashier girl. i was flirting with her, then BAM, i realized i was asleep. i said “this is a dream, and you’re part of it. damn! i liked you!” she smiled almost sadly and just nodded, and we had a good laugh.
I never really build connections with people in dreams, sometimes friends are there, but that’s it. Usually I’m alone. And almost every night I dream that i’m getting chases in some way, in some type of closed in course. Like a big scary mansion, or underground tunnels. It often ends with me getting murdered, or cut in some way. Like once i had a man chasing me around a garbage dump with an axe that had a live-wire around it so i got electrocuted when he cut me. A lot of times they catch me and rape me, though i never see those parts in detail, just know that it happened afterwards. Last night I was in a neighborhood and a bunch of drunk drivers were driving around like crazy running people over. It was terrifying. But anyways. Every single night usually has a chase, to rape, to murder. I had chasing and murdering every night since I was little, and raping was just added in the past few years. Some days I wake up freaked out, but generally it doesn’t bother me or influence my daily life. I’m a pretty happy and care-free person. I’m not like especially afraid of rape or murder or anything. So i don’t really know why i have these dreams. I asked my mom once when I was younger to send me to a therapist to figure it out, but she said it wasn’t necessary since it isn’t holding me back in my daily life.
