Cultivating 'bullet proof' habits for a healthy life

It’s been years since I posted a discussion on HE and I miss it! I’m ready to get involved again. 

I remember years ago when I was posting on this website every week, and I recall getting in a really good flow in my life in terms of who I wanted to be and the habits I wanted to sustain in my life. Lately, I’ve been falling off the bandwagon in terms of keeping my body in great physical shape, daily meditation, eating healthy, work/life balance, and managing my time well. 

My question for you brilliant HEthens is what are your best tips to creating the daily habits/patterns to stay in great physical shape, practice meditation, eat healthy, etc?  How do you stay on top of everything without getting overwhelmed and subconsciously wanting to give up?

What’s up Jack.

Whenever I want to change my daily habits, I only choose one. Its hard, because I find it easy to get distracted with all the “cool” new habits I could implement, but seriously-just picking one works. That way I actually have a new habit rather than a fun little experiment of multiple habits that I stop after a week or two. 

Also, I think you picked a strange time to come back. The fact that the few comments I’ve made in the past few days somehow makes up the most activity on this site on this site astounds me. Feels like no one is here, not to mention the OG crew is gone.

Make a list and give each one a column. Check them off each day that you succeed. Put this list where you’ll always see it. Ideally in multiple spots. Make an excel sheet on your computer to keep track of success as well.

Also, come up with some kind of reward for each successfully completed week. And challenge someone else. Bet money, so whoever loses has to pay up. Extra incentive.
