First of all I have never taken adderall, so please correct me if I state anything incorrectly.
I am curious as to people’s opinion of the use of adderall for studying. Personally I think it’s fucked up. My friends tell me that when they use adderall to study, that they enjoy the experience and that they won’t eat because they don’t want to leave the studying. I see a creepy future where we have drugs for every activity, and everyone is a conscienceless zombie 24 – 7. People need to wake up.
I played devil’s advocate with myself for a few minutes thinking of counter responses and the best one I could come up with was coffee. Coffee doesn’t seem wrong, yet for what I can tell adderall is pretty much coffee times 1000, with maybe some endorphin booster added (If this is completely wrong let me know). Well anyway, if coffee is ok, where do you draw a line, which side of the line is adderall on? And the line drawn is subjective, so can it really mean anything? My response to all of this is that both are bad, due to their addictive qualities, and how people become dependent on them. Since adderall is coffee times a 1000 supposedly, then it is 1000 times worse for you, and coffee still being bad is just not as bad.
Love to have some input,
All these “miracle” pills and medicines are just something for people to use when they’re too lazy to overcome a weakness.
I mean, I understand that there are plenty of cases out there in which a person does need what is prescribed. But, it’s more often than not the former, I feel.
Granted, I could be wrong myself because I’ve never even needed (much less, “needed”) pills. Things like attention, energy, etc…those all come pretty easily to me. So I can’t empathize very well. Though, I’ve felt like I needed happy pills when I was younger, but it turns out I’m just fine without ever getting them.
I see nothing wrong with coffee, I don’t see it has an energy booster personally, as I can drink it any time of the day, even right before bed, and not have trouble sleeping-same with my dad. To answer your other question, yes adderall is probably bad for you. But it is used to alter conscious reality. However, thats what other drugs do too, and that doesn’t stop me from using some of them. I like to think everything in moderation.
You may be right, but I personally don’t think that the future will be like that. Firstly, the conscienceless zombies would not do any better for the big guys :). Secondly, there are lots of people who uses them perfectly. So, just let them be :)
If we could improve mankind with no negative sideeffects, would that be a good thing? How many small sideeffects is in that case ok to improve mankind? Are all pills bad? Vitamins?
Just some things to ponder..
@dkman, I take adderall to do schoolwork, and I don’t think you’ll fully understand it until you try it.
It allows me to focus for as long as I want to, basically.
I see it as a tool to be utilized because the pros for using it outweigh the cons.
