Have a dream?

Give me a little about yourself and a vivid dream you’ve been having – that you don’t understand how it relates to you and I’ll give you my perspective :)

I am 23 Male college student. Working hard to accomplish my dreams.

I had a dream the other night that I got into a fight with a childhood friend that I used to play sports with. It was odd because we always seemed to have a fun relationship but over the years have grown distant. I punched him first and knocked him down then he had his way with me a bit. Then we parted with no real conclusion..

Whatdya think?

@pwhalen, I am younger (21) so I know how it feels to try and accomplish dreams at this young age. Seeing others surpass you, can drag oneself down. It is good you are in college. That is a good place to start, 2 questions to ask yourself: Do I know where you are going once I get my diploma? And the other is how are you paying for debt.

As per your dream, now these are speculations I am trying to practice intuitiveness based on a little direction, and deductive reason so if I am far off, let me know :)

To me your dream teases at you, with memories from childhood, so I see where it could be upsetting. Given the violence.

Every person in your dream, including yourself is going to be looked at as a reflection of your subconscious.

Think about anything that you’ve said to him, how he appeared to you.
This is yourself beating yourself up about something in my opinion.
So word or feeling exchanged could play into how you are beating yourself up.

So now, I piece this together bit by bit.
You feel like you’ve lost a part of yourself, a self whom you’ve used to know.

Are you suppressing a more innocent side of yourself in order to surpass yourself?

I am wondering as it is a possibility given the “working hard to accomplish” part.

You’ve knocked him down, even though you are fond of him *you*

But then you go on to say how he *you* had his way with you.

You are in a power struggle perhaps, feelings of triumph, feelings of letting go of something you were. You want to know where you lean.

But you then part, with no actual conclusion… You’ve temporarily separated from yourself, not wanting to confront the issue any longer.

Try this visualization exercise, if anything I’ve said seems true- or just for coming to terms with the dream so you are not in a constant state of anxiety about the beatings and violence.

Close your eyes, imagine you see your bestfriend *you*

Now go up to him, just as the dream emulates.

As you are about to throw a punch, take a deep breath. And ask him if he would like to play a game. Tell him that you’ve been too serious lately, and you feel bad for ignoring him. Tell him you feel bad for not being there all the time, and allowing the distance to separate yourselves that much more.

And after you’ve visualized that, give your bestfriend a call. Let him know you’ve missed the good old days, bite your pride and ask him to make a better attempt at your friendship.

Hope all this helps. Thank you for being patient.

That is what I think :)

Oh I’ll bite.

I’m 22. Female (derp). Currently raising four kids, bout to move down to TN in a few months.

I’ve been having this strange fucking reoccuring dream where my natural hair colour is back (spoiler alert – natural blonde). I’ve woken up several times freaking out, making sure it wasn’t real. They’re getting so vivid to the point I have lucid control over it, but even then, it’s left me in a stage of “what the fuck.”

The first one took place in an ancient city, crumbled and aged by technological wars, where humans had to revert back to “stone age” like technology, (imagine City of the Ancients from FFVII). I was desperately trying to find the kids, when I realized I had reverted back to my old self.

Second one took place on a ship, that was floating its way to the top of a mountain to a sanctioned town away from “civilization”. It was foggy, muggy, cold. Smelled like moth balls and was mainly grey (previous one was vibrant and colourful). People were mundane. Forlorn. And again, I was blonde.

So, kind sir, what do you think?

MPHill (775) (@everymorningbornfromtheashes) 5 years, 6 months ago ago

@alexa, Hello, Alexa, (derp) Lol. There can be a lot of anxiety formed around moving. I’ve moved so much, it is stupid. Starting over is tiresome but but the pay off is refreshing.
So here are… 2 general questions:

One, do you want to move there, are you excited about? Two, are you mostly doing this for someone else (ex: your 4 children, or significant other?) Are you compromising your ambitions for the safety or ambitions of others.

Now, before I start realize that my interpretation is only an opinion from what I know. So anything I say in the end is entirely up to you. This what I am doing is an example of how one can evaluate their dream’s meaning.

Okay, so you start off you see yourself. Only your not yourself, something is a bit off.
There is a subtle change to me anyways. Only a small one. But you hold more importance in your hair, the color of your hair. So you have to ask yourself why you are so afraid of the the little change. You know someone can’t be screwing with you, while you sleep dying your hair. So just accept it. Accept the little change in your dream. Think wow, yesterday my hair was this, now with out any work or effort it is this. And tomorrow who knows what!
Embrace this seemingly drastic change if you have the chance.

If you really want to shock your looping of unwanted dreams… Dye your hair haha. Then you would wake up in your lucid dream, see your hair the same color as in real life to awaken and see your hair is the same as your dreams and before you went to sleep.

Also, I would also say “WHAT THE FUCK” but we are smarter than our dreams, and our dreams tell us little hints into our psyche/sub-conscious/what ever ego/ thing.

Okay I’ve played ff7 so I know what you mean!
You associated it with that place for a reason.
You associated it with that place, as a reflection of yourself.

This city, is in constant war with its self, one of old and new. Progress and

You are trying to find the kids. They are now another reflection of yourself.
Children, the ones whom you want to protect, living in a world of technology, and barbaric threats all around you. I think you feel… as if you are lost, in the city of yourself, trying to protect yourself…. from the changing world, wishing for the freedom of adventure.

I also see this as a sign that maybe you feel you’ve grown up too fast as it is with younger parents whom have children.

But do not regret, bring them up allow give them the best of both worlds. Take them outside to experience nature, and have them sit with you and talk to them about some of the paradoxes from this site. No harm there, it is engaging and fascinating. Open them up to all the possibilities, through them you can find a youth (as I am sure you know) that is unrivaled to even being 10 years old again.

Your next dream I think is of a particular Isolation, again you are foggy.. misty, unsure of yourself, teetering and tottering on a ship (space ship? or boat?), a ride that slowly makes its way looking for a sign of light through all the blankness. Sometimes even you of all people give others the cold shoulder trying to find this light. Pay attention to those who are close to you, your ship
you are the captain, steer this thing to safety, and keep your crews moral up.

Smell is more a sense then the other senses so really think about what mothballs mean to you. Moth balls are up to you as to the determination, but I associate it with the elderly and grey with boredom. Making me think that you wish to not get stuck into the black and white areas of anything. Making well decided extreme decisions may not be your specialty. But at least you are willing to see how others are effected by trapping themselves.

The blond hair is a reminder, a subtle change… Can feel like a big one.

And a big change misunderstood can make you feel like a different person.

I want you to try this.

I want you to close your eyes…

Imagine that your hair is constantly adapting effortlessly.
No matter what place or time or time or place.
Rain or fog, sun or heat.
Where you live, where you will live.

Imagine you’ve stopped the wars, stopped the violence. Now you don’t have to find your children. Because they are safe, and like all family there is a need to return, and they will naturally like a bunch of chicks to a hens wing. You’ve rebuilt the city, one existing in harmony with nature and technology. No intimidation.

Now imagine, you are on this ship, and you see a clearing through the mist, and fog. And you can make out land, and light.

You can see everything for just as it is. You can see yourself clearly.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for taking the time to send me this.

@tigerturban, I’ve no fucking idea, but he’s dead fucking on for me.

Dino (20) (@nosorozh) 5 years, 5 months ago ago

@alexa as he could have been with a number of other claims and statements :)
@everymorningbornfromtheashes problem with understanding the unconscious is that it still remains unconscious so you cannot be sure of your interpretation. One might think he is doing a great job decoding the id and its wantings, while creating a what seems to be a legitimate confabulation ( there, I even used the big words)

MPHill (775) (@everymorningbornfromtheashes) 5 years, 5 months ago ago

@nosorozh, No magic here lol, and like I’ve said I don’t expect anyone to take it seriously :) Just something to think about.

@tigerturban, Fun.
