Huge companies buying popular websites.

We talk about how a most of mainstream media is owned by a select few and we know that the government has been trying to censor the internet and its use.
So what I wan’t to discuss is how you feel about these companies buying major media and social networking sites.

Think about it, if they were to own YouTube than they could than censor it. If they owned Facebook than they now have access to most of your information and can keep track of what your talking about. I think they may already own these two sites but what if they start buying out most or all of these major sites that we use.

What if they bought out HighExistence?

@grandkintaro777, if I were in the owners chair of this website and I was offered millions of dollars to sell the rights, I definitely would sell it. As I assume so would martjin and Jordan. The opportunity costs to not selling could be massive

There is a flip side to this. If an individual had the foresight to buy up some domain names for up and coming products, you would hold the power to haggle for a price with large companies.
