Mastermind Groups

I am going to be starting a mastermind group in Toronto in the very near future. Its going to be about continuous self improvement, whether it deals with money, relationships, spirituality, careers, fitness, interests or anything else under the sun. I have no idea who else is going to be involved or how to recruit people into this group. I have some idea of how to run it.

Is anybody involved in a mastermind group that would like to share their experiences, what they have done that’s worked for them, the size of the group and how it came together and anything else that could benefit people looking to start their own group or join an existing one?

Thank you.

Why do you call it a mastermind group?

The idea of a Mastermind Group comes from the book by Napoleon Hill “Think & Grow Rich”, written in 1937.

“The coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people who work toward a difinite purpose in the spirit of harmony”

“No 2 minds ever come together without thereby creating a third invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind.”

What is Mastermind Group?

Mastermind groups are a growing business phenomenon used for problem-solving, inspiration and motivation. They are built on the foundation of trust, confidentiality and harmony.

Mastermind groups share the basic philosophy that more can be accomplished in less time by working together. Comprised of individuals who meet in an open, supportive environment on a regular basis, the mastermind group’s sole purpose is to share thoughts, ideas, opinions and information.

@oreilly, That’s sounds pretty awesome as an idea. In a way, HE provokes something similar.

I like this.

It do suck you’re in toronto, a group of enlightening individuals who share philosophy and live enlightened by example to the point others see your enlightenment through your words and actions is quite awesome.

I once thought of having a group of friends who share the same interest of living life to explore this earth. Rather than staying trapped in a neighborhood working 9 to 5 jobs until you get old. Do some epic shit, go climb a volcano, jetski, surf, snowboard, watch a sunset, visit different countries or do anything memorable with a group of enlightening individuals. You’ll always bring up memorable stuff amongst each other rather than always bringing up material possessions you posses.

Just set your life up to escape that 9 to 5 trap and this societal bs. Haha, I like your mind set.

@oreilly, Hey man, mastermind groups are AWESOME.

I’m currently in one with a couple other guys who are developing their own blogs/getting their life together. We set up a Facebook group where we post articles and offer advice to each other. We also hop on a Google Hangout meeting once a week, where we each spend time talking about our challenges this past week and how we can overcome them.

We help each other out.

This has been the MOST powerful thing in my life during the past month. I advise everyone to do this…just start looking for people that might be interested. Facebook, on here, whatever. You don’t have to know them. In fact, it might be better if you don’t — I met these 2 guys through one of my mentors, and now I know 2 more people who are interested in the same things I am.

Good stuff. Mastermind groups for the win.
