I don’t think I could do this- at least not the no masturbation. I find masturbating helps me sleep/unwind at the end of a loooong day. Plus masturbating gives me a “different” type of orgasm. I also like porn because I am bi, and I am with a man. So I like to get out some of my pent up sexual feelings for women that way- but I only watch porn maybe once or twice a month. Every now and then I’ll do it a little more when I am extra randy and I have a lot of alone time. Haha.

But I think masturbation is healthy- porn is okay…. I don’t LOVE it mostly because it is fake, I’d rather see real emotion and sexual energy.

Just wanted to say this for the people who are trying it or thinking about trying it:

QUITTING MASTURBATION WORKS!!!!

It is the best decision I ever made in my life and has benefited me in ways I never thought possible. After the first two weeks the idea of masturbating will disgust you.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Not that I’ll enjoy it but quitting as well, that article had some very valid points. Thanks whoever posted.

Every time I go a long period of time without masturbating I feel much closer to myself and the universe..weird, but happens. Also, if I reach around the two week mark, my thoughts are now onto more interesting things like “what am I?”, rather than “sexsexsexsex”.

Look, the reason I agreed to go with this experiment isn’t simply because of the possible “benefits” or whatever. It’s about being in control. Lately I’ve been fighting a grueling battle with reality, to make sure I still have the ability to choose. If you are at the mercy of your impulses, then are you not but a simple animal? An animal gets an impulse, they will follow it like clockwork. That is their existence. I need to know that I am something more. So, I am going with this experiment, to prove that I can refrain from sexuality for a month; sexuality being the deepest of all animal impulses. Are you an animal? Prove it.

I`m proud to say, that it is already my 6th day without (not that I was addicted) but I did not like the thought anymore of women being raped, aslaved and used for my pleasure ! And so far I have experienced some of the same effects as most of you have, like:
1. increased energy -> I started learning Italian and to draw (both of the things that I wanted to do for a loooong time, baby ;) )
2. increased creativity (although this can be a result of drawing, because by drawing you actually use your right side of the brain)

And this is just the start ! :) By the way; I do not care if its a Placebo or not..
Cheers

How is everybody doing in his/her challenge? I have seen a lot of posts from (ignorant) people talking about this subject (who clearly do not know what they are talking about) and sharing their opinions without trying and seeing for themselves how it works (same as talking about how painful it is putting your hand in fire without ever having tried it yourself), which is kind of weird in my opinion. But I am curious about the people who are actually doing the challenge and/or did the challenge. How are you guys feeling?

I have quit porn half a year ago now, and I did this challenge for 90 days. After those 90 days I started masturbating again, but without porn obviously. The experiences are so much better right now! It is unbelievable how porn desensitizes you! I actually experience the changes in your brain that they discuss on YBOP and it makes a lot more sense after half a year right now.
I have also been hooking up with women more often, I have been seeing them less a sex object than before, and my overal libido has gone up as well! Definitely I will not go back to watching porn anymore

This is hard! Day four and my test is going crazy, I try to workout whenever I get excited but I makes it worse I’m working out 2-3 times a day now. Going to the club on my birthday isn’t going to be a good idea…

@theskafish, Thanks bro! I realize this already the club thing was a joke lol! It is hard but I know I can do it! I had a loss of attraction due to hocd and high anxiety and worry before I started practicing again which is partially why I am doing this so I have quite a bit of determination. It is coming along nicely already though lol.

This seem like a really hard challenge! I have tried it before but never reached a maximum of 2 weeks or so. Anyways it was just like a challenge for me, but I have read some articles and seen a TEDx talk and I think I will try it for the 30 days, and then see the results. Boys, please wish me luck ;)

Porn is like those movies where kids create a fake woman on their computers. Porn is the women and we are those children. Because we have those “Women” (porn) at home, we no longer care or feel the need to go after women in the real world. We need to break up with our porn and get back to social dating and sex.

As someone who has gone a total of 200 days without Porn or masturbation I can confidently say that this challenge will completely change your sex life and more importantly how you view the everyday woman. It’s hard, very hard but it can be done and it will change you. After 200 days I did have a few moments where I masturbated but did not use porn…I should be at day 237 but I considered that masturbation a relapse so I decided to start from scratch.

ANY girl who doesn’t think this is right should think twice. Trust me, guys will start respecting you much more as soon as they get rid of porn. Men will notice you in a more beautiful light. You don’t need to look like a supermodel for a guy to be attracted to you. Guys will be attracted to the little things, The way the light bounces of your hair, the way you smile when you talk….little things like that.

Is masterbation the issue here or porn? I’m in just want to do it right :D

@shbarton, It is the (physical) changes in the brain caused by watching too match porn and masturbating to it. It creates a false believe of how our sexual lives should be (your brain literally (physically) changes !) and how our partners should look like/should be like/should act like. I advise you to read the website http://www.yourbrainonporn.com, there you will find a lot of answers on your questions/concerns.

Once again: there is NOTHING WRONG with masturbating. A lot of people judge without knowing what they are talking about: see the website for more information.

@luigiblue, Well said! I am somewhere around the 200 days as well, or maybe even more. That is, without the porn, I have masturbated though. 90 Days without porn and masturbation for me, that was enough for me. Masturbation gets so much better without porn guys, it really does! Your fantasy will start working again, and you start appreciating it more!

Definitely true about how you look at women, and how your standard gets more normal again, instead of only looking at women that look like porn-stars not being attracted to other girls anymore (how sick is that?!?)

Porn is just another way of brainwashing and manipulating us!

I stopped for a month starting this September as i moved out to college. It has made a huge impact in my social life. Since you are no longer satisfied sexually, your brain changes and decides to get the satisfaction the natural way. By no effort I am ten times more outgoing around girls. I will approach girls without second guessing and i am much more flirty too. this has been working great. before college I would consider myself to be outgoing but by no means a ladies man but now all the girls seem to find me super attractive. Its weird but I think this is why

@filipek, Definitely agree with what you said.

When I was masturbating to porn all the time, I swear I wasn’t meeting any girls or potential girlfriends. Not to mention I was going through long sexless droughts. I used porn to replace those droughts and it damaged me psychologically. As soon as I quit, everything changed. I was more into “regular” women, I was meeting women everywhere and women were more attracted to me (could be the higher dose of testosterone and pheromones flowing). Anyways, I was having sex regularly because my mind was no longer settling for porn. My mind instantly went into natural instinct mode and I was out in the real world meeting new women and looking for a mate. It’s a beautiful thing…it really is.
