im on my third day already. Im not doing for religious or moral matters, just want to see life in a different perspective you know? I admit it gets hard sometimes ( lol )….but it is worth it. Im doing 30 days without any kind of videogames as well

Somewhat started this challenge 10 days ago after a spark of self control, I relapsed last night, went to sleep drained and in shame. Then tried to perform a WILD this morning, actually became lucid and proceeded to waste it entirely on browsing porn until wakefulness, truly pathetic. This was really upsetting, I am realizing my dirty mind and lack of self control is embedded deep in my subconscious, which I am not okay with.

Let this post mark the day that I cut this shit from my life, you know what, I’m going to cold turkey video games and junk food too. I always find multiple changes make it easier to sustain the others.

I am on this for 40 days already and I can say that you totally stop nedding doing it. Or you think lots of times. The only “bad” thing is that when you get a real woman you will orgasm very fast, because sensibility goes high.

today i start out this challenge,
for the past decade, I never considered any benefits of quitting (or any disadvantages of not quitting)
but that changed, once i got into a healthy relationship, and an ‘upward spiral’ in life came into form.
this fast, cheap, and easy way to false “gonna get me nowhere” pleasure has to come to an end. so that I may
focus on greater things, without any dependence.

I went through the challenge and nothing changed too much in my dealing with women. It was really good to see me craving for sex for some days, but after everything went normal. Until I start having ejaculations during dreams and not get to hold myself. When I took a girl home I ejaculated too fast, I was hyper sensitive. I didn’t like that I came back to masturbating. Because I was looking like a pervert, semen came out just from the act of kissing my girl. After 1 month that totally lost the sense, I needed to come back to the normal 1 per week status or I wouldn’t enjoy all of my love life with the girls. But I do not recommend porn, that is a market we shouldn’t make use from! Better eating GMO’s than watching someone doing what you want to do while jerking off in your own pants, that is not necessary to make your life better. Try to spend some time learning Chinese or breaking the world record in Pacman (3,334,000 points if you try).

Done with week one. Kept myself busy with training, moving into a new place, drawing, and picking up new hobbies and interests. I almost relapsed when I remembered that porn destroys your computer ha ha ha. It was a close call, but I was able to restrain myself.

So far I’ve noticed that my erections are becoming harder and frequent when someone good looking passes by me. Other than that nothing else. I’ll have to do something about that. Onward to week two!

You don’t need logic to tell your porn is bad (or good, for that matter). More importantly, how does it make you feel to watch porn, without the labeling of it as good or bad?  Before, during and after?

Also, people who are strictly saying that jerking off is bad are also being ideological.  More importantly (once again), how do you feel before, during and after you masturbate, irrespective of your mental knowledge that it depletes your energy and makes you lazy or whatever you think.  

Being ideological about this stuff is only going to cause more problems for you, even if you stop jerking off and stop watching porn.  

Looking through this forum, I see a lot of people talking about how they have been restraining themselves and denying themselves.  If you want to watch porn, watch porn. If you want to jerk off, jerk off.  No amount of mental knowledge about how bad these things are for you is going to fundamentally change your behavior, because deep down you’ll still want to do it. No amount of rigorous anti-mastubation and anti-porn protocol will turn you into a better person.  It will just make you feel pent up, and you’ll search for other outlets that are no better to make up for it.

You stop doing things when you realize that they don’t feel good to do. Not because your logic tells you so, but because of how they make you feel.

This topic attracted a lot because of a large proportion of male who are feeling bad about masturbation. I know a lot of guy who are porn addict and don’t even want to talk about it. It’s not that it is unacceptable, the thing is that IT IS hardcore shit ! Prostitute payd to have sex just because it will make people feel great tingling  their bananas ? I found this discussion without even looking for it. I proceeded to throughly review the links and i started to feel very depressed. I’ve already known this to be true deep inside. I started over a year ago. I couldn’t at first. Then I asked God for help and his power to destroy any powers oppressing me. Now since 21 February 2014, I haven’t masturbated. Whenever I was tempted I kept asking God for help.

The masturbation is just temporarily part of this challenge. The key is to learn to enjoy masturbating again without watching porn. To learn to understand your bodily signals and cues without watching porn. There are countless benefits. Before I started this challenge I could hardly get of without porn, it sometimes would take me an hour or longer and I just couldn’t enjoy it. Now, more than 3 years later the experience of masturbation is so much better. My sexual experiences have also drastically improved (of course it’s a combination of many factors, but quitting porn has definitely helped).

Now I still occasionally watch porn, let’s say on average once every 2 months. Sometimes I am just interested in getting some new ideas for my own fantasies so occasionally browsing through some porn videos gives me this creative stimulation again. That’s all

I feel like I’ve posted to this discussion a few times already. Failure usually goes along the lines of the thought process, “its OK if I cheat once, just this one time won’t ruin it”, but that is so wrong, those porn–>dopamine release connections come right back in full force. BUT I’m on a roll right now, about 3 weeks in.

I find that I’m very reliant on orgasms though, going without sex for more than a week leads me right back to a threesome with my right hand and my laptop.

Will post here again once I feel that I’ve conquered my addiction.

Keep it up mate! I am on a challenge of no masturbation at this moment, for no other reasons than to challenge myself, day 21 today. From time to time I do this challenge of no masturbation for at least 30 days, in combination when I am apart from my partner, so there is no sex either. I notice that after 2 weeks or so, my mind starts to drive me crazy. I get so many sexual fantasies on random moments during the day and the urge of experiencing the temporary release of the sexual tension due to the orgasm is huge! I am trying to channel this energy though, which is certainly not easy! I am not at all against masturbation by the way, in fact I am a firm believer that it is a very healthy activity to clean out our old sperm and let our testicles regenerate. I also believe it is good for the prostate.

I’ve found the same man. I told my two closest friends about my problem and they have been a huge support. Just talking about it and explaining to them what porn does to your brain and the benefits of abstaining from it has really helped me stay committed. I’ve tried it before without any outside support and it is infinitely more difficult.
