I read this book on the ‘science’ behind a 24,000 year cycle that really opened my eyes to what I am a part of. Below is an excerpt of a review I wrote of a book detailing this, and a link to the full review:
In the Lost Star of Myth And Time, author, Walter Cruttenden, presents evidence for an alternative theory of history, one that is a modern take on an ancient science that posits the solar system revolves in a 24,000-year cycle around a companion star. As it does, the Earth is carried through the magnetic or electromagnetic (EM) field of the other star, similar to but different from the EM spectrum of our own Sun, causing subtle changes in human consciousness over long sweeps of time. Just as night and day and the changing seasons are caused by the dance of our Earth and Sun, so too is all life gradually affected by a larger celestial motion: the dance of our solar system with another star, interacting with subtle forces in local space.
This was an awesome read! Your review was approachable, easy to follow, and not too limited. The most intriguing part was Cruttenden’s explanation of Hunt’s research. Would you happen to know anything else about that? If not, I guess that’s not your fault, I just want to read more about it haha. I was immediately struck with the thought that his experiment could share similarities to some (read: some of the less-crazy) theories of the Great Pyramid (as well as the rest of ’em).
@kkainoa, thanks for taking the time to read the review and I’m glad you found it interesting. To answer your question about Dr. Hunt’s research, I don’t know much more than what I wrote in the post. My guess is that your best bet for additional information is an internet search.
That was a real mind blower read. So exciting is this information.
A memorable quote: “The beauty of using myth to transmit complex truth is that you can depend on uneducated people to accurately transmit the information.”
Stop me in my tracks to contemplate.
Hmmm, in theory, do you think the Dark Ages will be experienced again considering our technological advancements? We are quite a powerful age of humans who can probably produce our own EM and skip pass the Dark Ages with technology.
Combining ancient knowledge with our current advancements will mean a super Age of humans to me.
According to the scientific study presented in that article humans are more negative due to less Electromagnetic activity taking place. The body is negative in the sense it feels threatened and insecure, which makes us act more towards barbarism. The Golden Age occurs when the solar system is close enough to sirius star to receive a showering of it’s EM, which bathe us and make us more positive. I think with technology our ancestor didn’t possess we can produce our own EM field to perhaps bypass the Dark Age era.
Maybe by realizing what the ancients left us we can unlock secrets to finding ever lasting peace with their knowledge and our technology.
@ecoylogy, I saw a few youtube videos about this stuff, I thought it would be cool if something like this were to happen, most of them were postulating that there would be some kind of great shift in the earth’s axis and consciousness on friday the 21st. So far it doesn’t seem like anything too substantial has happened but who knows maybe something will happen when no one expects it. We will only know once it happens, no point in trying to figure something out before it happens…
@grandkintaro777 – I never considered the possibility of using technology to thwart a future ‘Dark Age.’ I was viewing the Dark Age as being part of the natural way of things, like seasons. However, the technological ideas and tools that are being discussed and implemented in response to climate change gives me reason to think about the possibilities of a future unlike anything I can imagine. As Juan Enriquez says about genomics, we’re peering more and more into the universe’s toolbox.
@biga69 – I also read and watched articles and videos on similar topics (the Mayan calendar, shifts in consciousness, etc.) and what I’ve come to believe is that we’re on the ascending part of this shift and that things will only get better from here. Looking at all the social movements and discussions that are going on, I feel like things are bubbling and ripe for a number of significant changes. Another way of looking at it all is just an excuse to be optimistic and hopeful.
