[Official] The Damn Good Music List
One of the most beautiful songs I have heard lately is a remix of the theme song from Inception. Here’s a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Se5NBKNcsy4

@jordan
Lauren hill – MTV unplugged, the whole album has emotive content, and she sings beautifully over acoustic guitar.
Ab-soul – control system, hip-hop with a powerful poetic delivery, and meaningful content
Kendrick Lamar – section 80, on paper same as Ab-soul but has his cometely individual style of poetry
The boxettes – free. Song with a powerful meaning, with the instrumental cometely made with human voices. And just to be a bastard I’ll mention I saw Steve wonder live at bestial in the isle of white a couple of weeks ago!
These are a couple artists I haven’t seen posted in the few pages I scrolled through. But a majority of their musical content is relative to the dispositions of a lot of people on this page, and obviously it’s personal preference but I see their music as high quality and a worthwhile listen :) especially if like me you like diversifying your music taste.
@benjamin, Love People Under the Stairs. I saw them live a couple years back, as they were opening for a band that I was going to see. I ended up getting in a conversation for 45 minutes at the bar with Double K after their set.
I will add my favorites to this list later. I have to go back to work for now.

@ineffable, Thats fuckin sick man! Its a dream of mine to meet Dub & Thes. Imma have to catch a show next time theyre in beantown.
@benjamin, man I saw them in beantown(cambridge), I’m from a Boston suburb. They opened at the Middle East Club in Cambridge, for the Flobots. It was 2008 I’m pretty sure. They were touring their album Fun DMC, not my favorite PUTS album by any stretch of the imagination, but still great to see them live.
@ineffable,
Thats ill! I’m between porter and harvard square so if they come to the Middle East again Ill foshoooo be there.
I really like the whole crew of doomtree. Anyone else listening to them?
They got sick enlightened lyrics and a rebel style, which somehow gives me some hope and confidence:
I meet the devil, it ain’t the first time / He kills me quick like I am nothing / Scream St. Peter, I need you now cousin / I see the owls coming, they float me safe / I learn their grace, they help me heal / I’m under stars peeling off my skin to rid my scars / it’s the first time I am reborn, but I am not me / No identity, and I am finally free / I am my brother, I am my father / I am the sun, I am the water / I am an ion, I am everything / I am the vapor, a cloud of smoke / I am a cheap laugh, but I get the joke / I am a brief flash, the abstract
I think it’s criminal how Noel Gallagher of Oasis’ solo project (Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds) is going unnoticed. “If I Had A Gun” is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard in a while. And to through out some other tastes: Radiohead, Passion Pit’s Gossamer is great for ripping a bowl to, and these past two months some of my buddies and I have been reconnecting with classic rock (i.e. Boston, Zeppelin, The Guess Who etc….) It all just makes me wish I grew up in the ’60s/’70s with a lot of those bands :( Also had a Smiths/Cure binge last week <3
Tame Impala – Keep On Lying
