What alternative news sources do you follow?

I’m seeking to expand my knowledge base. I currently use:
– activistpost.com
– alternet.org
– bbc.org (mainstream I know, but I like to know what it is the plebeian masses are dosing themselves with)

@psychonaut, theOnion.com is comparable to what’s going on in the main stream media

Democracy Now is a great one. http://www.democracynow.org/

“The U.S. media was already fairly homogeneous in the early 1980s: some fifty media conglomerates dominated all media outlets, including television, radio, newspapers, magazines, music, publishing and film. In the year 2000, just six corporations dominated the U.S. media.

In addition, corporate media outlets in the U.S. are legally responsible to their shareholders to maximize profits.

Democracy Now! is funded entirely through contributions from listeners, viewers, and foundations. We do not accept advertisers, corporate underwriting, or government funding. This allows us to maintain our independence.”

None – when I was a kid I didn’t know about politics at all, and I was happier.

None unless its some positive news I don’t want to hear it. I already know this world is beyond fucked. Okay, cool. Now let’s find some solutions, lets stop thinking about how messed up it is and find something that can fix even a small part of it.
