What is going on?

So, completely sober..just got home from work..and All of a sudden my vision starts acting up. It’s effecting the outer part of my vision, almost like I’m just starting to trip. Everything is moving, and when I close my eyes I see very bright lights. They almost look like stars twinkling, but only up close more.

Any ideas? This is very strange, and its getting worse.

Works for me. I mean, in retrospect, if it was something going on, what could I do about it at this point? haha unnecessary worrying.

in my professional opinion, I have no idea what is, it could be that there is a pressure imbalance or strain around your optic nerves, do you feel any abnormal tightness in that area or in your sinuses?

I sometimes see phosphenes when I’m really high and have a lot of blood pressure in my head. They’re little moving lights that light up for a second then fade like fireflies. If I sneeze hard, they appear and overwhelm my peripheral with these lights. They generally go away after 15 seconds though.

@cody, I’ve had that happen before as well, but they start from one spot, and “Burst” every direction, then fade.
@brandon, nah, I’ve felt great all day. I did walk home, and then when I got home was attacked by my drunk roommate and company. They picked me up and threw me. Who knows.

When they threw you, did you hit your head? That seems like what happened to me when I used to get hit really hard playing hockey.

@Alex- Dude I get this all the time, It usually comes on before a head ache, but sometimes it just happens. My peripherals start flashing and things are kinda moving. My vision get FUCKED. It usually subsides within the hour, or for some reason, if I get out of florescent lighting. I don’t think its acid/mushroom related

Could be ocular migraines? I get these every so often. Except mine is just my vision going out slowly until im literally blind for about 5 minutes. They are different for everyone though.

@alex, Interesting you say this. This has been happening to me quite a bit lately. Sometimes I can even do it on command. It’s kind of scary but at the same time very entertaining.

Perhaps, it has something to do with this. Do you have this too? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_snow

Have you ever done acid? I have been told (I haven’t personally researched it though) that acid can make you randomly trip throughout your life after taking it. Thats the first thing that came to mind. Maybe you should go to the doctor? Did you drink something someone gave to you? Thats another thing. If you recently had an open drink handed to you, you could have been drugged without even knowing it.

Alex, did the lights feel like they we’re trying to pull your vision into them? Or like they were trying to take over your field of perception?
I know it feels a bit scary, but next time you should just lay down, close your eyes and fully experience the lights. Deepen your breath and keep your body relaxed, then just let the lights happen. I think that doing this could give you some answers :)
