I’m hoping to start reading more actual books again. What are the best or most life-changing books you’ve read?
I’ve just finished an absolutely Stunning book, it’s The Alchemist, by Paulo somebody-or-other, and it was both beautifully written and profound. Also, any book written by Carl Sagan. He is a very down to earth man, discussing not so down to earth things, lol….
Harry Potter, because it gave me an escape from a reality I couldnt cope with at that time. When I tried reading it again many years later, the magic was gone (sic). I would now recomed to pick up a feminist, or at least a female author, since no other seems to propose it at all. Much spiritual/philosophic litterature are written by men approaching a male dominated world. Almost no matter who you are, and where on your path you find your self, this fact encircles our society. And even when we try to escape that society, knowing more about the experiences of half of it’s ppl, will help us understand where we are. I wish you good and peaceful reading :-)
Six months ago I lost my job and after that I was fortunate enough to stumble upon a great website which literally saved me. I started working for them online and in a short time after I’ve started averaging 15k a month… The best thing was that cause I am not that computer savvy all I needed was some basic typing skills and internet
access to start… =-=-=-=-
This is where to start
great titles that people have listed…i agree with so many of them. i’ll add one: “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” by Richard Bach. Highly recommend it…can be read in a single sitting. showed me what it felt like to take the yoke from around my neck and soar.
I’d recommend you book by Stephen Hawking: Brief history of time. If you’re interested in astrophysics and also don’t want to learn math behind it. It’s written for non-scientist people so you can easily understand hard topics. It’s a really Brief Introduction to the world of Astrophysics.
If your into fiction, I would check out Stephen King’s short story collection Just After Sunset. Best story in the book by far: “N.”
As for non-fiction, The Pussy by Delicious Tacos (yes that is the actual name) is hilarious and moving. Full of anecdotes, essays, etc.
Poetry: Sad Math by Sarah Freleigh. Best poem: Waitress.
