      I think what Mr. Huxley is saying here is that you need to be open and accepting of change when it comes, and to not become nailed-down to any habits, traditions, traits or beliefs. Existence exists on the premise of constant change, which leads to constant growth, which leads to constant evolution. If a person tries to stifle this growth with repeatedness they end up hurting themselves, despite the comfort that tends to come with stagnation.

      But that’s just my interpretation or course.
