    If one were to adopt the Hindu view of the self, as long as you think you are what someone thinks of you(including yourself) you never will know your true self.

      Maybe you were not made to know your true self. Maybe knowing your habits, your good and bad tendencies, being aware of the fact that you can cause pain in this world around if you’re not careful, and knowing that you love the people you’re living with is enough.

    I don’t think this is necessarily true, especially if you have social anxiety to some degree. I THINK I am what I think you think I am. Who you are is not defined by what you think anyway.

    You get your identity from the names and numbers that other people give you (including any you give yourself). If you mean self image, you get that from bumping into the world. Watch a toddler.
