Wow- I just finished a 10-day Vipassana retreat and this hits home for me (dhamma.org). Vipassana was the technique taught by Gautama the Buddha for actualizing exactly what you’re talking about. Thank you so much for this beautifully written piece.

I really like this video. I appreciate the fact that we are beginning to realize that “things” aren’t quite as linear as we’d like them to be but in fact everything is cyclical. The one main issue I take with this whole idea that it depends upon “renewable energy” (seeing as to create *anything* requires energy) and I’m still skeptical as to whether or not the “renewable energy” we have discovered so far is really as renewable as we’d like to think it is (solar/wind/hydro included). Maybe I’m being cynical and a truly renewable energy source (life?) will reveal itself in the coming decades! Either way, I appreciate that this video was shared!

Great article. Always a good idea to check out all sides to every story. And if you have limited resources, it’s definitely better to commit to what you can, and forget what you cannot control. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08uTUdkmszM

Hey Laurence I just want to be one to say that I think you are criticizing more than you need to be. I could understand if he was dropping the “F” word every paragraph but he said it one time so I just want to be one person to say it’s fine.
