This is the next step in our human conscious evolution. You can see the nodes of awakening blossoming throughout the planet. This is the shift. Look within.
I couldn’t help but burst out laughing at his “chanting”. Also, no one went and comforted the girl crying? I’m not upset but I find it strange. Seems to me this retreat is taking life and meditation a wee bit too seriously. We are not encapsulated in ourselves, we are each other. If someone is crying, it is natural to comfort others and to be comforted.
I don’t think their is any “method” to meditation that is the “best”. People tend to think of meditation, myself included, that you sort of “hone in” on it. When in fact, it is exactly the opposite.
I liked this article. Shows somewhat of a new light on it. Good stuff!
Were there hallucinations involved, euphoria at any point, basically anything like a typical psychedelic experience? Sounds interesting, not sure if I would give it a go or not.
This is absolutely ridiculous how there was no trial, no nothing. What do we do? How do we help this? Better training? Maybe, but I think this is something much deeper..
Reminds me of Alan Watts speaking of nothingness. Eventually, everything we’ve thought, loved, felt, experienced, believed in, whatever, will be gone; it will all be nothing. Some might find this scary, that they and everyone they know will die, along with the current value systems and others in place today…but what is more peaceful than nothing? Nothing I suppose.. ;)
It’s weird, I feel as if collectively people experience these sort of feelings around the same time. My brother and I were both talking about having this profound, mind-boggling realization that everyone in the world has their own little universe, own little story, along with our own, creating what we call the human experience. I then go on the internet a few days later and see it on Reddit and a bunch of people talking about how they have been thinking the same way lately.. Coincidence, maybe. But whatever it is, it’s pretty incredible.
“Have you ever noticed how, um, there’s this quality to reality, which comes and goes and kind of, ebbs and flows? And nobody ever mentions it, or has a name for it… And so what I noticed was that, running through reality is the ebb and flow of novelty. And some days, and some years, and some centuries are very novel indeed. And some ain’t. And they come and go on all scales, differently, interweaving, resonantly. And this is what time seems to be.” – Terence McKenna
Fantastic post! I always go in with an intent to go deeper within myself, but never really focusing too much on self-improvement. Usually, my trip just leads me there anyways. Next time I will focus on it as in this time of my life I really do need it.
Awesome! So how exactly do we perform his technique? Is it simply mindful meditation but with a spin on it? Do you hold your breath for as long as possible, taking very long breathes, and focus on your heart, trying to control it or something?
Indeed, but killing in general, especially for something as silly as a piece of paper (money), is ridiculous. We live in a beautiful world and the only enemy is ourselves. Wake the FUCK up people.
@jordan, Best idea so far I’ve heard on how to change the world. Not sure if it will work, but I have hope in humanity and this project. And yes, indeed I am ready.
For the people who won’t be in the beginning stages of this project should be out spreading the word of the corruption of the governments, the way money is produced (money=debt=slavery), and how we all need to wake up. This can be through stencil artwork/graffiti and/or simply talking to people in an elevator. We should find out what the best way to go about informing people in public would be. Some sort of way to spark up a conversation related to the topic that everyone can relate to and would make them want to learn more…
I’ve been thinking about this exact thing a lot lately. I’ve been trying my best to talk to strangers and try to spark a small friendship with almost everyone. This is what needs to be done. Everyone is fearful of each other and that fear is driven from the fear of the unknown, i.e. what will they say, what if they don’t like me, etc. etc. With the help of meditation, psychedelics, and mainly out right positive thinking, this can and will be achieved. We can do this. If I can, anyone can.
Is it possible to fall out of enlightenment? For a few months I would say I was enlightened and I actually remember making a conscious decision to stop this outlook on life to test out something that would require the mindset of an average individual. Not sure if I was truly “enlightened” but I definitely had a constant guru, everything is fucking awesome outlook on life.
Brilliant article Martijn! I really needed this today. I struggled with depression last year and instead of turning to “modern medicine”, I turned to myself. I am radically different than I was two years ago and couldn’t be happier with life. Every now and then I need to remind myself that I am on the right track due to this societal “norm”.
I was beginning to lose hope for this open-source, free world idea, but this article and the one you posted on facebook (http://www.realitysandwich.com/answer_henry_baum) have really shed some light and given me some hope.
