For as long as it has existed, homophobia has always been a problem. As mentioned in the video, it leads to the exclusion, rejection and ridicule of LGBTs. It still exists in, at least some, western countries. For instance, the term ‘gay’ is often used in a derogatory sense and homosexual marriages aren’t legal in all countries.
Discrimination can occur unconsciously. Some TV shows have conditioned people to think in a homophobic way. I know it’s somewhat old but consider the show Friends. Also, religion still influences the mainstream view of the matter.
Anyhow, the video mainly refers to the countries in which LGBT relationships are illegal. Most of these are in Africa and the Middle East: //76crimes.com/76-countries-where-homosexuality-is-illegal/

I’ve often considered the possibility of ‘intellectual phase locking’.
I agree with the speaker, science is becoming dogmatic.
