‘When our body’s take the backseat in our lives, it begins to accumulate physical ailments such as chronic back pain, weak joints and mental aliments such as depression, anxiety and ADHD.’

He makes the assertion that you only get these issues without ‘taking care of yourself. Which in many cases is a confounding factor but not a reductionist cause. There are other variables that determine the characteristics and manifestations of these illnesses, ailments and diseases: such as genetics, environmental factors, social pressures.

‘To take pain killers, antidepressants and insomnia pills is to avoid the easily preventable conditions, until it is too late. ‘

Here he reduces the complex nature of chronic pain, depression and insomnia to simply taking pills to ignore the problem. Taking a pharmaceutical is usually a reactive process because of a a feeling of pain, or helplessness etc.

‘The body has remarkable tolerance but if we refuse to listen to it, we accumulate the burden of illness – obesity, cancer, diabetes, cardiac/pulmonary disease, sports injuries, lack of mobility, all of which are ultimately from sedentary lifestyle choices’

Aside from trying to compare the incomparable, Sports injuries and Cancer are simply not in the same category of illness, he does us the disservice of saying that if you simply listen to your body you will not get these diseases. How many people do you know that have felt fine and had a horrible diagnosis on the off chance they went to see a Dr for an unrelated illness?

‘When the body awakens, you have consistent vitality and strength. Symptoms of subclinical depression and daily anxieties disappear. The body runs effortlessly with no aches and pains, slowing you down’

Simply not true. Well people DO become unwell, they get bacterial infections, they get viral infections, they can tear a ligament, you can develop anxieties.

‘Our bodies craves Flow. When we move in a mechanical environment such as a gym or an office, our body’s natural instincts get diluted. The body wants to move. This is EXACTLY what is was designed for!’

Not necessarily, just because you go to a Gym you have to consciously decide on the movements et al you want to do. And the body wasn’t deigned, it has developed (that last point is more of an annoyance in this context).

I am in no way dying he has got many qualifications, however some of his points should not be taken at face value. Especially when we move away from his sphere of knowledge and into that of organic disease, pathophysiology, genetics, psychiatry, medicine etc.

The author clearly has NO idea about diseases process, progress, the human body, the human mind, pharmaceuticals or how to write objectively. Utter, utter nonsense.

Started reading Spell if the sensuous just before this article was published, it’s going slowly. Mostly because the ideas and concepts are so direct and deep it’s almost impossible to understand the contents for more than 6 pages at a time.

It is a great joy to be grappling with my own consciousness and ideas in the way Abraham presents what we think in a completely converse way.
