Three times thus far has it been suggested to me that I ought to listen to Alan Watts; and that is just from members of HE. In person, many of my friends have told me that I should listen to Alan Watts because they seem to believe I would get a lot out of it, or even that I relate to him on an intellectual or philosophical level. From what I’ve gathered, everyone in the know believes Alan Watts is quite something special. I’ve listened to three of his videos, and frankly I’m disappointed. It seems to me as though Alan Watts uses flawed logic in many of his philosophies, or else alludes to what is already obvious using vague turns of phrase that are rather up for interpretation. Plus, his slow and provocative voice and manner of speech clearly make him an excellent vehicle for conveying thoughts of any nature in a way that will be well-received. I suspect Alan Watts is nothing more than a man with a lot of charm, a little knowledge, and who likes to regurgitate legitimate philosophies in a manner that makes them so vague that you can hardly question their legitimacy through the incoherence of their presentation. Honestly I’m a little upset, as so many people have recommended him to me and I was hoping to gain some insight from his words. On that note, I’ll admit that they make for great entertainment to most people, but his “insights” would never see legitimate scrutiny from the world of philosophy.

Get off high existence stone. And come back when you have an open mind and realize you know nothing about anything. Then you can begin to learn.
