A Short and Sweet Insight About Human Nature

  • 2012-06-13 @ 12:54:46

    CHILLMADI!!!

I’d been waiting too long to see HE’s homepage complete with all three parts of this AWESOME post!

A few mind-blowing words and figures that hit me: 60, 500+ (are you fucking kidding me!?) Acres! :: construction underway?! Woot!

If discussing maybe for half an hour on an online forum (HE) on plans to change the world can give us ideas like the one’s we’ve had on here before, I cannot even imagine what the results would be if we were to gather round and dedicate our LIVES for it!

    I have two questions:

    1) Is this for Life? i mean, it so is, isnt it! So we shall be livin’ and lovin’ and procreating like the happiest people on Earth. And we’d like our children, the future generation of earthlings to be the best generation of people that ever lived right? And so, what about Education? in my opinion the whole paradigm-shift that we keep talking about can happen in its full potential with proper education (i dont mean ABCD at the age of 4), and this^^ plan of changing the world should incorporate that, and show the world THIS too can be done in a new way.

    2) One of those things i keep dreaming about is one day owning a Porsche 911 GT3 and drifting around on twisty mountain roads with it. and the other thing i keep dreaming about is living a blissful life in a community like the one you’ve suggested, living off the land, skinnydipping in the river that runs nearby, occasionally setting off on my bike on trips across the nation (or the world :P). The thing is, these dreams are kind of… contradictory — my dream car would cost me dearly, and i dont really make many moneys living in the community. Or how would i get trained for wingsuit basediving without any money at all? I bet a lot of people would love nothing more than living in a sustainable community but would they have to do away with other dreams and (ahem) desires to be part of it?

    And to answer yours:

Holy shit yes, this is fucking awesome!!!!! I think the most difficult (=the most rewarding) part would be to get the pilot venture up and running. Would Earthship people be helping you out with it? and i do agree on “Most existing communities like this are completely removed from the world, and are (understandably) happy to be. Instead, this community will serve as a hub for launching grass-roots movements and other ventures hell-bent on changing the world for good.” People just want somebody to build the bandwagon, and then they are all ready to jump on it. So i think after the pilot venture, this thing will catch on like wild-fire.
another thing i completely agree upon is something you said in your earlier post: We have a grave lack of intimacy. and people are gonna see how much Love there’s gonna be in a community like this, and thats another reason i see for this spreading. cuz nothin spreads like love baby!

And heavens yes, I am! I would like to help spread this movement as well. Oh btw, are we naming this community anything?

Go Forth and God Bless, @jordan !

i love how i am allergic to high end physics and yet can grasp what Peter Russell is saying pretty much fully… he is the man.
for any change i think hope is key. there is a whole buzz going around about a change that is going to happen that we can all be hopeful about. i dont know how many people can ‘feel’ it, but that sense that we are all heading somewhere together plays an important part in the actual change that is going to occur.

“We’re not going to fix government until we fix citizenship.” that’s the lesson to be learnt here. and that trickles down to each man for himself. and there’s no one or no school to teach you that but yourself.

well, you’ve done exactly that, Russell, i had never heard of these theorems too.. and i didnt even notice they were Theorems until you mentioned it up there. excellent! simplicity is a hard thing to find nowadays…

i have a friend whose dad is a priest so they are all very orthodox christians… and for a few weeks after we met (they had just moved into my apartment) all we talked about was God and Christianity and all that jazz (obviously :)) and i really didn’t know anything about Christianity so i listened, and questioned everything. In order to make me see the light, he gave me a collection of videos of a science teacher turned priest, Kent Hovind, who was saying the earth was around 6000 years old (creationist theory). unfortunately this guy had a terribly arrogant presentation style, and i couldn’t watch more than 5 minutes of it.
but all this i could take, and if i wanted could have believed too. the one thing i couldn’t was he kept on saying that God created us, so we worship him. and i kept thinking how wrong that was.
but now, i guess i completely agree… just replace the word God with consciousness. this is an epiphany i had recently:
in order to know you exist, you have to exist first. anything that does not exist doesnt know it doesnt. so anything that is there in existence, knows it. so there is no birth and no death. i have forever been and will be. we are all alive. even in ‘death’.
so our purpose is to know that we are conscious… see?

i’ve got a very basic doubt here: if we take this to heart (as this is an excellent thought), doesn’t it mean that we lose the kind of anchorage, to our beliefs and values? or does this pertain only to acquiring knowledge?

hi i just joined He and only by the power of your love. i found HE 3 hours ago and have been reading only HE since. i decided to join when in this article (which must be the 100th article i read today) you were talking about the increasing number of people visiting the site. i myself had been thinking along “love” lines for the past few weeks and its that what led me to HE tonight.

even for a person who has no clue about what im fuzzing over right now, i bet he/she would have noticed the amount of love that people share here on HE.
