@trippypatty, well, what are your interests? Having common interests seems to help in making friends. Then you can talk about your interests, and build a conversation from there. And from continued conversations and interactions, hopefully you will cultivate a true friendship.
Also, don’t waste time on fake friends. You only get 1 life, so trim the fat. There’s no point in having fake friends because all you will create are boring, meaningless conversations and empty, boring memories, if you remember them at all, the whole time wishing you could be with people you cared about. It will all feel like a chore. I sort of know how you feel. I wasn’t exactly in your situation, but I was “friends” with people at a point in my life, and we never really had all that much to say that was meaningful, we were just “friends” because we all had the common goal of wanting to smoke weed. It was a whole lot of wasted time, nothing worthwhile ever happened and looking back it was all pretty boring. Glad it’s over. But yea, don’t waste time on those “friends”. You can do better.
