@opal, I don’t agree with taking medication for anxiety.
Have you tried any herbs yet? Lemon balm tea has been used as far back as the Middle Ages to reduce anxiety. I’ve tried it myself and it works awesomely. Chamomile tea is also very calming. Valerian root extract(you can buy it in capsule form for extremely cheap, i’ve bought a big bottle for under $4) also works great. The compound Diazepam {Valium) was and is synthesized from the Valerian root…The chemical signature will show up { as Valium} in a drug screen. Passion Flower and lavender are also anti anxiety.

Do not underestimate herbs!! as an anxiety sufferer myself I can say that they work awesomely.
Go on meds if you must but try some of these gifts from nature first please. They are cheaper, more accessible, and better for you.

Some other things that really help anxiety is going for regular walks. Once your mind starts getting revved up and ready to send you on an uncomfortable and tense ride, put on a coat and walk out the door. You don’t have to have a destination, just walk. It’s amazing at clearing the head.
Writing is also amazing for that. There is endless literature on beating anxiety that you should definitely look for. You don’t even actually need to ingest anything to help, you can train your mind to deal with it effectively and rise above it. Best of luck and much love to you.
