TED: Awesome Talks on Every Subject Matter
TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design), is a an annual conference held in Long Beach, California that brings the brightest minds from different fields and gives each 18 minutes to share their idea with the world. While the original conference in 1984 only summoned scholars in the areas of technology, entertainment and design, the talks have since branched out to anything that will interest the audience with academic merit. For example, one might hear a talk concerning technology to create clean air and then be subsequently wowed by a mathematical theory to predict the outcome of wars. Yes, you read that right, and that’s just scratching the surface. TED.com has over 400 streaming videos of individual speakers and adds more every week. Even better, TED’s sole goal is to “spread ideas,” so all of their videos are free to watch, use and re-post under the Creative Commons License. Basically, TED.com is a perfect site to go to for high quality videos of genius ideas, ideas that are extremely fun to ponder and discuss when high. Here are some highlights just to give a taste, enjoy.

1. Sean Gourley  – The Mathematics of War

2. Ueli Gegenschatz: Fulfilling the dream of flight in a high-tech wingsuit (HUMANS CAN NOW FLY)

3. Pattie Maes & Pranav Mistry: Unveiling the “Sixth Sense,” revolutionary, wearable tech
