I work as an IT specialist and in the evening time its very very slow. So ill always wonder off, find an empty room and debate whether i should meditate or nap. Which do you prefer or which makes you feel better?
If I was working regularly the whole day, I’d have to choose some kind of really good mental break, instead of a nap. I’d prefer to be away from electrical stuff. Wondering how you meditate when you are an IT specialist.
Naps shouldn’t exceed 20mins since after that time you can go into REM sleep and when that sleep cycle is disturbed it throws your whole system off balance. Think of it as stopping a defrag on your computer right in the middle!
Go for the 30-45 min of meditation. Or maybe 10-15 min of meditation and then a nap or visa versa. That way you get the best of both worlds! =]
I’d nap; especially if I had the time to fall into REM. Usually a quick nap can be a lot of fun lucidly floating around my thoughts. If I let go completely then i get woken up by my timer feeling refreshed. I don’t have anything worth focusing on though. I would perhaps meditate if there was something I was supposed to be working out or concentrating on that day.
