If you guys have not heard already, a new alternative social

network has launched on kickstarter called “Miramir. Im super excited for
this. Couldn’t come at a better time.

Here is their description

“Miramir will soon become an alternative to Facebook,
as well as other networks, and it is aimed at the privacy fighters and change
makers, activists and advocates, yogis and vegans, meditation enthusiasts and
sacred geometry followers, preppers and alternative news readers, raw fooders,
vegetarians and health conscious individuals, urban gardeners and alternative
technology lovers, the kindness deeders and peace promoters of the world. All
the great people of our earth who care for our planet, people, and future as a
human race.

The really groundbreaking aspect to Miramir is
that it is much more than just a social network. It is a Facebook, Ebay,
Reddit, Quora, Meetup, Craigslist, Plenty of fish, Kickstarter, Airbnb, and a
lot of other networks combined into one. Except with a big difference. It is
focused on privacy, freedom of information, world changing ideas, global
consciousness, community, interconnectedness, and a healthy future of humanity
which we all want to be a part of”

Not to be a pessimist, but this project is doomed to fail, as dozens of Facebook alternatives have already tried. If this was a really good idea, they would be able to get conscious investors in no time. Maybe good intentions, perhaps just a marketing ploy, but getting this off the ground with their business model seems impossible to me.

Don’t be such a pessimist :)

I’m totally in! Just prefer to see good and always hope for better.

Miramir seems to me as an idea full of peace, kindness and inspiration.

Hopefully, it’ll be launched soon, so we’ll see what’s it all about :)

Hope to speak with people who think the same way!

Privacy is an illusion in the digital age, we will be Hacked, you can be sure of that, your only real choice is who does the Hacking. That depends on who you trust and who you allow advantage to.

That’s right. Privacy is an illusion. But if to look generally, all life is an illusion, didn’t you think about that?

Of course there is a choice not to join any social network and just be inert and antisocial but social networking are created for communication and information exchange and it’s only your choice what to post and what data to share.

I have thought about all of life being an illusion and I rejected that conclusion, because I don’t think I’m that special. If you want privacy live off the grid, no information is privacy.

I trust Law, Law is founded in principle, no random stranger is intrinsic to the purpose of Law. Law like Evolution is a process over time, we must honour the sanctity of Law and if you don’t trust Law make it better but don’t abandon it.

Recently Apple turned the FBI away, saying the Law is untrustworthy, that a private corporate brand is more moral than those who fight for our lives. Apple is a pack of wolves.

What do you want to say?

Those who “fight for our lives” are just a bigger wolfpack.

The difference between a mafia and a government is simply that the government has established their dominance.

I hate Apple with a passion, but I like how they handled the Stasi Gestapo FBI thing.

Despite we’ve got a lot of social networks, Miramir seems to be different. I love that everything will be in there, like a lot of networks in one. It’s interesting.

I support the idea and want to join asap!

“Freedom of information”

…as long as you’re a devout lefty fanatic.

Laughable. Fucking hilarious.

It’s not a new social media platform, since they have a very precise ideological profile.

Also, I think you should all read this great book:

The Circle by David Eggers
