Afternoon, HE. I’ve been a creep on this site for a while, occasionally creating threads but mostly just reading others’. I’ll cut to the point of this post:
I started dating a man with stage 4 cancer last April. As we’ve been together, the guy has been through more hell than I could possibly illustrate in this thread. Two surgeries, chemo, radiation, complications as a result of surgery, more chemo… it continues. And as time goes on, we’ve been losing more and more faith in the western approach to cancer treatment.
His most recent test results have determined him unfit for his last round of chemo as his immune system is shot from previous rounds and his body is not strong enough to handle more. What is supposed to be helping him is actually killing him.
Tumors release an enzyme that docs can use to determine the rate of growth in tumors. A healthy person like me would have a reading between 1 and 6. His was at 600 and has recently increased to 900- skyrocketing in spite of the chemo.
The cancer which started in his colon metastasized to his lungs and while surgery on his colon was successful in eradicating the cancer there, the cancer in his lungs is both inoperable and incurable- words which pretty much smother any hope that he’ll live past his young age.
I’m asking if anyone knows of any alternative treatment centers- I have a strong aversion to conventional treatments (surgery, chemo, radiation) and am in a desperate search for a more holistic approach.
If you have personal experience with a center or have done any research which could help me in my search, I’d love to hear from you.
This is probably the more useful article:
And also, what floaty said. Checkout the Gerson Therapy as well.
Hope he gets better.
My yoga teacher has been given six months to live twice and her cancer is now remission after living with it for ten years. She credits her yoga practice which had her upside down in inverted postures for 20 years and also acupuncture for recovering from all chemo and surgeries.
@fruitbat77 Vitamin therapy sounds great. Sounds like something he’d be willing to try.
@jelica We have talked about yoga a lot actually. And after his chemo treatments he’s been very sore- he suggested acupuncture himself…
Thanks for your responses. I’m a little skeptical about cannabis so I’ll have to do some research myself.
Your skepticism regarding cannabis is completely understandable. The general perception of cannabis, or weed, usually lacks any knowledge of its insane medicinal benefits. I’ve gotten more than my fair share of “this person is crazy” looks when I try to explain it people… They usually bash it, considering it nothing more than poppycock without doing any additional research. So thank you for saying you’ll look into it more.
Leafly.com is a good site for research. Has a ton of information on cannabis. I would also look into this one documentary called “Weed the People”. It’s by Ricki Lake and a Abby Epstein, and was successfully funded on indigogo over the summer. One of the main focuses of this documentary is the medicinal benefits cannabis has on cancer in children. Should be a good watch once it’s released. Here’s links to their indigogo page and site:
Chemo is an absolute no no, it breaks down the body’s natural defense systems. Virgin Coconut Oil daily (eat and rub all over the body)…Juice with raw cannabis buds and other vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds…cannabis hash oil vaporized and inhaled will no doubt help out those lungs, as well as cannabis oil rubbed on the skin…tea cleansing also has many anti-cancer benefits. Please do not shy away from cannabis treatments, a true gift from nature…the plant cures cancer! look up the name Rick Simpson and check out what he’s done
Many in the non-traditional medicine field believe we have the ability to heal ourselves of cancer. You don’t necessarily need a Tibetan monk, a faith healer or some sort of shaman to do it for you. Here’s a link on some stories that can be an inspirational start to finding another way forward:
