That’s crazy. I’m hoping that kind of tech could also lend a hand in making nuclear fusion. Oh and understanding how the universe came to be would be cool too haha

Neat thing about anti-matter…
In a nuclear explosion, about 20% of the matter involved in the initial explosion is converted into energy, but in a anti-matter/matter explosion, 100% of the matter/anitmatter involved is converted into energy, making anti-matter an extremely useful energy source. The problem is it is so ridiculously hard to make in even the smallest quantities.

1 lb of antimatter would be equal to 19.5 megatons of tnt.
1 gram of antimatter, about 1/25th of an ounce, would equal 23 space shuttle fuel tanks of energy.

also to put into perspective for a megaton… 15 kiloton (1/1000th of a megaton is 1 kiloton) was the amount dropped on hiroshima.

“The explosion of a 550 kiloton strategic nuclear weapon over a large city, under average weather conditions, can instantly start fires over a total area of about 100 square miles (200 square kilometers).”

So, basically, a 19.5 megaton explosion would be equal to 494,325 hiroshimas, and would annihilate over 13,481 square miles (21695 KM), not including nuclear fallout and shockwaves…

Unfortunately, I figure the first application of antimatter is going to be a weapon. What was the first thing we did with nuclear science? Use it’s energy to heat our homes? No, we built a bomb out of it, killed 150,000-246,000 people in Hiroshima and Nagasasaki (numbers from wikipedia). Thus the US became the most powerful country in the world. blech.

Dude, that makes us a target. I don’t want to be here when China comes knocking asking for their cash back. EVERY chinese person over 18 (it might start sooner i think) gets 4 years in the military, required by law. every chinese man knows how to fight. They could KAYAK over with knives and forks and still have a chance XD.
besides, this country is going to what Egypt did last week.

these strands then connect to different bodies after they expire
(like a key to a lock)
