Anxiety/Confidence Issues

Hey there im a 18 year old boy (just joined so bare with me)

(Before u read this i thought i should note, im wondering what there is to help me with these problems, any certain types of meditation or things i can do – any advice is appreciated)

I used to be very outgoing and happy constantly, with alot of friends around me but as i grew older i started to get anxiety and think alot more and it almost changed my personality.

I’ve stil got friends and do normal things but now its like im CONSTANTLY thinking about what other people are thinking. Its horrible, i can carry on throughout my day but its still there.

I want to be able to talk to people without thinking what they’re thinking, I cant pull a genuine smile aswell unless i really laugh :(

I have no idea how to change this? I would really appreciate any tips/advice towards me. If you know exactly what/how im going through? if theres a name for it?

Start mindfulness meditation. It will suck at first, and seem pointless, waste of time etc, but you need to train your mind to STFU from time to time. Stick with it. Most mental problems these days are the result of over stimulation from our own minds. Some of us just need to learn to actively slow it down and learn to quiet it down. Hard to do but worth it.
You are not your mind. Also, you don’t have to listen to the b’shit chatter it constantly produces.
Mindfulness – Explore it.
