Starting a Earthship commune type place to go and live off the land and be free. Geodesic greenhouses and creative place where their is no worries, no pressure, no bullshit, raise a family. Any one want to live in an Earthship in the mountains of Colorado off Grid?

@shaggyandscooby333, Well, me and mine would but we prefer Maine…less tinkering from the gov and the like. :)Thinking SERIOUSLY about pitching a community to a developer I know…oh, man…can you imagine?

@harperthreshold, Hey thank you for your interest. I am looking for friends who just want to live a life of mutual respect. Relationships of quest for knowledge of mother earth natural way of living. Would love to live free away from drama of television and bullshit of today’s society. On how many i am open on who wants to learn from me and who can teach. Ideally up to 7 people permanent or how ever many people we can live comfortable. Must like animals for i have a dog. would like to get chickens, fish or what ever else. I don’t mind if people do 420 as long as they not dwell in the haze forever. I personally do not like being in control except i wouldn’t mind a yearly trip. I like having meetup where people come up and want to learn from what an Earthship is like. Having them learn tire pounding and such. It would be ideally to have lots of experimentation’s on yoga, artistry, meditations, cooking, self reliant living, finding ourselves, nature,, mother earth, permaculture and aquaponics and so such more. I am open for anything. I have had a few inquires but nothing concrete. i can not promise that this will be heaven, i just can promise my earnest and sincerity on trying to wake up. Would like 4 to 5 hours a day working 5 days a week. Two off to explore the vast open space that the area has to offer. no minimum to stay. I am tired at the moment for the government is hassling me now, for i guess i was supposed to get a permit and certificate of occupancy, but i hope to have that together by spring. I don’t do good with government red tape and such. Sorry for the rambling

Yes!!! Im moving to Boulder Feb. 1st and am going to be going to Naro pa University. I want to live in an Earthship more than anything, and to see this post, it actually makes me think it could be possible. Im going to school for env. science and sustainability as well as Peace Studies. My dream job would be to be building earthships for 3rd world countries…or just those in need (homeless pretty much) and being able to house and feed everyone with no bills to pay. If you’re thinking of building one within an hour of Boulder or Denver, hell fuckin yeah Im down… I’d probably dedicate all my time to that..
oh im just so happy I saw this post

I would invest all of my time and money in to this. Do you have property here already? Or plans for this?

I have property and the house is livable, always adding on.

I would miss the internet because I enjoy the fresh visuals posted. Otherwise, very much down since I grew up raising my own food and would like to return to that again. How is the weather there? Also, when you said creative space I instantly thought of art, and I use a lot of chemicals such as resin – which smell strong and arent good to inhale. What’s your stand on that?

[Hidden]
Keith Hughes (23) (@shaggyandscooby333) 5 years, 7 months ago ago

Usually the weather is 10 to 15 degrees colder than Denver, Colorado. Verizon works on my smart phone on Internet. Probability not on harsh strong chemicals in the house.

That sounds great! I’m always looking for new experiences like this to better myself. I grew up kinda sheltered and spoiled by my parents and never really had the chance to do things for myself. I feel it’s important to know how to grow your own food, fix things, take care of other people, etc. I also long for close personal relationships with people.

If this is for real, I would love to do this over the summer when I’m out of school.

Hi @shaggyandscooby333
i love your idea!!! Im currently preparing myself for living out in the wild and i would love to start with you and whomever else is there. I mainly moving to CO to grow some cannabis and also to experience nature first hand! Its my goal to be able to DIY any task and i love to learn and share my knowledge. I got really excited when i saw your post because thats all ive ever needed to feel complete in this world. To just be able and live. Ive grown up with neglectful parents, foster care and aton of negativity from society. I can see past it though because it is changeable, its just that i dont really seem to function in society anymore. Which is why im planing on living in nature since i adapt better in wilderness. I love the outdoors. …. ohhhhh i just check out what a earthship is. Yeah thats my long term goal and wayyyy out of my budget currently. I would want to make one in a year or 2. Well im a single 19 yr old looking to get some space in colorado, if im not able to make an earthship (which currently i dont think i could;not enough resources) could help me locate somewhere with free space where i can utilize the land and make a simple shelter. I currently live in VA. And i do think it would be cool to join your community and help out. Also if u know any jobs or anything that would give me headstart in the right direction since i dont really know anybody in CO; that would be a huge help for me.

Hello, Keith. My name is Brandon. I ran across your project today and perused your pictures of Facebook and,”Friended,” you so you can have access to my page. I just finished building a 40 food geodesic greenhouse (which i think you had mentioned earlier). At any rate, I have been researching earthships for a while now and I have a similar vision for my life and would like to start a dialogue if you are willing. Thanks!

Brandon

Greetings! My husband and I came across your post today and let me tell you it sounds like just what we are looking for. We relocated with our three year old son, to Summit county from central Florida last September. We really wanted a lifestyle change and we had work lined up. Currently we live in a townhouse but our plan is to eventually find land and build an earthship. Our dream is to live off the grid, in harmony with nature and be completely self sustaining. We are both big on permaculture, aquaponics and I am so looking forward to having chickens :-) My husband has certifications in horticulture and landscaping and I have worked on an organic farm. We are both artists and he also plays the guitar and drums and my son loves the piano and drums too.

How many earthships? How many residents are already there?

Charlyn & Ryan

The meet up is May 21st from 6:30-9 in Boulder.
We need ideas for funding, for people to put their money down so we can build sustainable homes, sustainable learning centers, food gardens, and

Here is my Facebook if anyone wants to find out more.
