Are there any other none muslims that like Islam??

Blah (@tentninja) 7 years, 4 months ago

I’m not a muslim. I was born and raised in Manchester, England and went to a catholic school, got christened and baptised and all that jazz, but as I got older I moved away from the religion because of the imense amount of contradictions and bullsh#t i found in the whole belief system.

So i started Christian, then became an atheist, then in time became an agnostic that likes to pretend he’s a rasta because he likes the whole ‘god likes ganja’ thing they had going on, but wasn’t too fond of the idea that jesus came back in the early 20th century and no body noticed apart from all the pot heads haha,

but yeah so maybe those two paragraphs give you a good idea as to where i stand with religion. I like the good ideas they represent but feel that too many people misinterpret what they read for me to be able to really enjoy any of them.

So instead i have taken the following stance…

I am confused…

I am more Religious than those that say they are not…

and less Religious than those that say they are…

Now i’ve been reading the qu’ran.

I have to say now i’m reading it i have found that most of what the west think about the quran is a lie.

It seems to me that the world is looking at what the bad muslims are doing, and using that as a base point to judge the religion as a whole.. which i think is rather stupid.

The reason i think its rather stupid is because as much as they talk about all these nasty bad muslims on the news and on twitter… I HAVE NEVER MET A BAD MUSLIM!!

I have never met any of these truly evil muslims everyone keeps talking about?!!??!

WHERE ARE THEY ALL PEOPLE??!?!

Does anyone know a ‘terrorist’????!!??

can i ask if there is any real people among the HE community that has ever met one of these evil beings the news loves to talk about so much??

I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world, and i’ve travelled through muslim countries, and i found that they are much more nicer than any of the western countries i’ve been too.

The people are much more friendly, a lot more humble, a lot more willing to help, a lot more willing to give you stuff even though they don’t have much too give.

I went to places where bombs go off all the time and i felt very comfortable there. I never felt my life was under threat, and i’ve been to some pretty scetchy places. The reason being because i’ve never met anyone who is truly evil.

I’ve met people that some people call evil, but others don’t.

I’ve never personally met anyone that everyone would refer to as evil.

Or the majority would, with people such as Hitler being a good example.

Don’t mention silly things like Bin Laden etc. that is just something that opens up a terribly complicated debate that leads in a million different directions… and i’ve never met him.

So the point is… what does everyone on this Forum think of Islam??

Do you believe all the bullshit we hear on the news? Do you believe all the racist comments you hear??

Do you believe some of the racist comments you hear??

I grew up in a very racist area, and i’ve heard every racist argument under the sun.

I have Racist friends.

I have Religious friends.

Theres been times where i’ve even managed to get my racist friends and religious friends to chill together and have a good time and never mention religion once.

So I know its possible for the two to mingle and intermix because i live in the middle of it all, and i see it happen all the time.

I see two groups of people which hate each other with all their hearts be able to become friends, even with these contradicting life views, which seems to cause so much argument and debate among the intelligent.

It seems peace is a lot more likely among the poor, where trying to think of ways to get money for food is more important than an in depth complicated debate about rules and regulations.

I was just wondering what all your thoughts were on this?

Its not exactly a scientific study i’m offering you here, only my own personal experience living in a very poor area, filled with crime, drugs, and more crime… amongst all of these terrible drug addicts and criminals are beautiful people… that get over looked because everyones afraid of drug addicts and criminals.

As though because they are a drug addict or a criminal that means they are a bad person??

That statement makes sense to so many people, but it doesn’t make sense to me.

I think we need to stop looking at the world in such a narrow way.

That way being CRIME = BAD and DRUGS = BAD

This causes a really big problem for all these beautiful criminals and drug addicts i know. Because the world looks at them as failures.

Yet i see the complete opposite. In these failures i see all the answers to the worlds problems.

We think the answers lie among the rich and intelligent.. but it seems to me that there is much more wisdom to be gained from interacting with the poor. From interacting with the ‘Scum’ of the earth. As when you do, you realise its not them that are the scum at all.

The real scum are all these selfish people collecting and saving up all the money in the world for themselves and their own, when strangers are drinking from muddy puddles and eating out of bins.

Our society is selfish.

I mention the wisdom coming from the poor because Mohhamad couldn’t read or write.

And although i am not a Muslim, i am finding much wisdom in their teachings which i feel is helping me to better myself as a person!

Isn’t this all that should truly matter when you look at something? What can you learn from it? what can your friends and family learn from it??

Instead of thinking with fear and worrying about all the worst possible outcomes of trying to interact with people such as Muslims, or any other faith for that matter??

Why are we all so worried about them converting us??

In the qu’ran it tells muslims in the first few chapters that theres no point in preaching islam to none believers because Allah has made them blind death and dumb. It also makes a big emphasis on being charitable and kind and living by the Ten commandments.. one of which was THOU SHALT NOT KILL!

So a big part of the muslim faith is not to kill!

Yet many people seem to look at angry muslims that murder and say ‘Look thats what islam told them to do’

NO IT ISN’T WHAT ISLAM TOLD THEM TO DO!!

ISLAM TOLD THEM TO BE PEACEFUL!! AND PROTECT THEMSELVES IF THEY ARE INVADED OR THREATENED IN ANY WAY! BUT OTHERWISE TO LIVE PEACEFULLY!

and i only ever see this living example in ever muslim i ever meet.

So i’m calling bullshit on all of this racism crap.

Its starting to annoy me because everything that everyones worried about, i have actively searched to meet with all my might for years and have not found any of the racist bullshit i’ve been told to be true.

ITS ALL BASED ON IMAGINARY FEARS!!! based on events which are so rare that its very unlikely you’ll ever come across it yourself, even if you search for it.

To me it seems that all the muslims are lovely, kind, charitable people.

They have welcomed me into their mosques and homes fully aware that i was not a muslim.

And i saw nothing but kind, none violent, beautiful people.

Maybe you haven’t been as lucky as me??

Maybe you have met a bad muslim?

Or maybe you’ve made it all up in your head as well like all of my racist friends have.

SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH ME!!!

I WANT TO KNOW WHAT ALL YOU CLEVER CLOGS THINK ON THIS SUBJECT??!!

IS RACISM STUPID PROPOGANDA??

DO WE HAVE STUPID RACIST PEOPLE AMONST US?? :P

I DON’T MEAN TO OFFEND YOU WHEN I SAY STUPID, I’M NOT CALLING YOU STUPID, JUST THE RACIST WAY OF THINKING STUPID… BECAUSE IT IS… AND IF YOU DECIDE TO THINK IT ISN’T STUPID… THEN I’M SORRY I THINK ITS STUPID :D

haha,

looking forward to what you all have to say :D

HAVE A NICE DAY!

PEACE

MUCH LOVE <3

I don’t have time to read your post at the moment, but I don’t think Islam is anything, only people are something, everything else is just things without a mind or heart, well animals have a mind and heart but they don’t really understand what I mean. So the good really comes from us and the bad also comes from us, when we start projecting that onto objects we diminish our own worth and liability.

But I spoke to a Imam once and he said we are all Muslims as long as we will to serve God, but whatever God means I don’t think anyone really knows, but I’d say compassion and justice cover it, perhaps wrapped in a ball of love :)
