ASTROLOGY!!! whoah

John “Avy” (@Avernus)7 years, 8 months ago

I used to think it as bullshit.. but upon further investigation of myself and a few others it is creepy how accurate it is… like dooood this is deep.

So what are your guys thoughts on it? I’m sure most of you know your sun signs but that is only the tip of the iceberg.

check it out for yourselves and let me know how it is – I’m very curious

I’m aware how general the statements can be and the reader’s bias, but is there actually more to it? Every sign appears to apply to everyone, but some more so than others. If my sun were an Aquarius I would like to think it wouldn’t apply in the same way – but then again I really can’t know. Other signs I have read and just seem to point away from mine, but once again we can only control our minds so much.

I haven’t been reading into it for that long but all the different connections and lines drawn, various things influencing another.. its not a life script/sumary, but some tendencies… Its odd how on-edge it puts me. Either way its fun and not feeding you lies but positive messages that anyone could apply in their lives.

I reckon Astrology describes a set way of interaction that is used to create in harmony… You just have to look at it… MrAstrology has some fun insights but does get carried away sometimes in my perspective.

@avernus, you have to understand that there is no standard for Astrology. There is no science that each astrologist takes from to make their claims/predictions/readings. In real science, multiple figures can tell you the same thing because they are all getting it from the same, reliable source. But in astrology we see that it is all over the place! One horoscope from one magazine can say something totally different about the same sign in another newspaper!

Also, there is no actual evidence that shows us a Force that connects us with the celestial bodies of space. If an astrologist claims that there is no physical or energy-like force, then we’d have to conclude that he is making claims based on magic or blind faith, which you can relate to religion. And believe me, there are people who treat it as a religion, which is one of the actual harmful things about astrology.

As the late Carl Sagan put it: “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.”

@kazi, “And believe me, there are people who treat it as a religion, which is one of the actual harmful things about astrology”
I’ve met a few people like this, its ridiculous.

Thanks :)

You could place astrology in the discovery of the time period and the need people needed. In the most simplistic idea you could say it tells the story of how to seed, grow and harvest- how does the year work and produces the need of the people.

At this moment in time people don;t work on there needs but rather on there whishes which means we have stepped of the principles on how to be good farmers. We plunder as a society without any respect of the need of people in general. We created a million layers of control to keep the minds in the idea of virtuous society- which does not follow natural interaction which can be found in the Zodiac…

if you ask me though ;-)

Astrology is a blueprint of who you are.

Think of it this way: your astrology birth chart is your personality’s “building,” its structure, its blueprint.

You can choose what materials to build these astrological blueprints with. The activities you do inside the building, are of your own making.

An astrology chart is the planned blueprint of this building, the resulting structure being your personality.

Astrology presents the outer factors of your personality (the planets/stars/asteroids, their energies are connected to events and things in your life, these influence you, not control you). The choices you make, the person you choose to be, are all the inner factors of your personality.

You are who you are and will always be who you choose to be.

Fated events are the results of every decision and choice you make. Destiny is a map of those choices and decisions in your life. Destiny is set in stone, in the sense that those choices are all related to each other no matter how diverse they are– it’s all connected.

An astrology chart is a snapshot of the heavenly influences foretelling your personality, but only subtlely. You choose how to manifest what was written in the stars about yourself and your life.

There is also much more to astrology than your Sun Sign alone. It is also only every 25,000 years is there a completely same birth chart as yours (down to the second).

For twins and other multiple births, they’re developed in the same womb, born of the same woman, live through similar life experiences, but such siblings choose how to individually manifest what their “same” birth chart is.

How astrology works, well there are plenty of scientific theories that pertain to how everything is connected. If the sun sustains life and can make us feel either happy or other emotions, if the moon can control the tides (why not move the water within our bodies as well)…

Remember, astrological configurations and bodies only INFLUENCE and AFFECT US. They do not control us, nor do we control the movements of the planets and stars. Yet somehow they still make us gaze in awe at these heavenly bodies. Outer space makes us wonder why we are here, who are we really, etc.

if you thought astrology was interesting you should probably walk over to the numerology camp and talk around. Personally it hits much closer to home.
