hrmmm… couldn’t one argue that cameras help police in their ability to help prevent and manage crime? i guess,
when the cameras were installed ‘unfairly’, was there a reason at the time for their installation?
does the police use the cameras as merit to make arrests or to know whose house to come to for questioning? i guess, is there some action the cameras are causing that is unfair, or, is this a case of people not wanting to feel controlled?
from what little i read it seemed like their main complaint was the majority of the cameras seemed to be in their area, an area of low crime rate, and they felt this was unfair and the cameras should be moved to actual areas of crime, but they also did not show any numbers or charts to back this point, or really elaborated on what neighborhoods they chose to reposition the cameras in and the fact checking involved.
it seemed more like the point was tearing down cameras and the afterthought was moving them somewhere else to somehow justify the vandalism,
