Click here if 'you' want to be enlightened

Nick (@splashartist) 8 years, 10 months ago

You clicked? Good. Well, first and foremost I want put something out in the open. Are you ready? (Word of warning, I will be speaking in paradox and contradiction. Sorry, there’s really no way around it as language is dual by nature and what I speak of is non dual.)
YOU CANNOT BE ENLIGHTENED,
phew..
If you are still here then you are on the right path. So what do I mean? All those years/months of searching for MY enlightenment have been worthless? No, definitely not. There’s a process or a journey (or what It may seem like right now) to this destination (which isn’t really a destination) and although it may seem personal, at some point this will vanish.
The truth is, there is no I or ME that can be enlightened. In all actually the ME is the PROBLEM.
WHAT? *brain explodes*
The sense of identity that we are an individual is the key problem that keeps ‘you’ from shifting your perception to the truth that is. This is the illusion of separation, you’ve probably heard of this. Any belief you have, any sense of yourself is all an ILLUSION (I’m going to shake your foundation here people, if you can’t deal with it then I suggest you leave this page.). Think about this, there’s almost 7 billion people in the world and most (keyword, most.) people all have different realities. They have all created their own reality that is only true to themselves. Why do you think people fight, wage war, etc? If there is clashing ideals then people will clash, its simple. That’s why people like to group together if they share common beliefs so they don’t feel ‘alone’. Safety in numbers that cradles the ego like a baby, if anything threatens this then there will be hell to pay.

Any belief of yourself or the world is unique to your ego’s expression. A belief is a thought, thoughts come and go like anything else. Hence, your beliefs of everything around you will always change. That’s why if you are searching for yourself in this illusionary reality you will be finding yourself to the day you die. Its like trying to hold on to waves in an ocean.

So what’s there when your thoughts cease to exist for a brief moment? Are your beliefs still there? No they aren’t, that is unless you think about them again (although there is subconscious mind momentum of these beliefs that still exist, these momentums are the things we have to take care of). Everything that you have deemed reality up until this point has all been false. Ouch. I garuntee some people will argue against this in the comments which will only further prove my point of testing someones false reality that they have been nurturing their whole life. Ah the play of it all, it’s quite hilarious actually. So, to conclude this section of the discussion: YOUR BELIEFS DON’T MATTER IF ‘YOU’ WANT TO BE ENLIGHTENED. DROP THEM, YOU KNOW NOTHING. IF YOU THINK YOU DO THEN THIS IS JUST ANOTHER THOUGHT, MORE MOMENTUM.

So what does it mean to be enlightened? What is it then? Well, nothing really. It just is. This may not make sense to you right now but it will in due time. To help you out though, it is really just seeing everything as it is instead of what you think it is. Removing the aspect of the individual and the illusions that mind based realities have you trapped in. Its waking up from the dream of your reality. Now you might say, ”well I can do that and stop thinking briefly”, but it isn’t that simple. Its the complete disintegration of the I. This can be a long long process for people as the mind likes to fuck with you and give you many things that you should or shouldn’t do. GET RID OF ANY IDEAS OF ENLIGHTENMENT YOU HAVE NOW AND LISTEN.

What I talked about earlier in regards to mind momentum is the problem which fires this I or ME so it can exist. Thoughts themselves have no problem in the existence of the mind/body AT ALL. Thoughts can still be there, if you have meditated on quieting your thoughts then you have been taught incorrectly. It is only when we base our reality off the thoughts the problem occurs. AKA “identification with your thoughts”. Now, I will break it down as simply as I possibly can for you. To remove the aspect of the I we must remove this mind momentum. THAT’S IT.

So, what is this mind momentum exactly? Well, its a swinging of energy (more on this later though). Thoughts that have had an impact on your ego usually create a large amount of energy. The more we think about them then the more momentum we give the thoughts. This is how beliefs are formed. Lots of these beliefs are ‘negative’ which the ego hates which in turn gives it more momentum (YES EVERY ‘PROBLEM’ YOU HAVE HAD IS THAT SIMPLE EVEN PHYSICAL PAIN, DEAL WITH IT.) It is really this build up of energy that emotions of certain thoughts/sensations come from. Now back to the swinging of energy (this has to do with your positive/negative swings). Think of a pendulum, the pendulum swings in complete balance. One side of the swinging before neutral point is ‘negative’ and one side is ‘positive’. The rocking back and forth is the natural play of life energy. This is how energy moves. Complete balance and harmony. This in itself is perfect. The problem is that the ego based reality likes to hold onto one side of the swing and hates the other side. This in turn gives the pendulum more energy and gives some sort of sense of resistance. The ego holds on to the positive and when it starts swinging into the negative the ego resists against it (this is what suffering is). This of course feeds more energy which makes the transition into the ‘negative’ worse. So what we are going to try to do here is remove most of the mind momentum to reach a point of harmony or ‘oneness’ by completely balancing the pendulum to a resting point. Simple right?

So there is a progression to ‘enlightenment’, but once the pendulum reaches a resting point then the shift of perception occurs. The waking up from the dream. It’s like a snapping of a cord, a very slight shift of perception. Reality as it is, home.

Now I have given you all of this but you may be wondering now “How the fuck do I get rid of my mind momentum D: ?”. This path will totally be unique to your expression of life itself, but there is a key thing I would like to give you that you can ‘utilize’ to make this process go by much faster. This is (drum roll please)……
ALLOWING, THE ACT OF LETTING GO, SURRENDER. (really whatever you want to call it the words aren’t important)
At first this can be practiced of some sort of ‘meditation’ but will eventually work its way into your life naturally until you have reached ‘enlightenment’. This is what is referred to as grace by some enlightened masters. To start, sit for 20-30 minutes and simply allow. Don’t try to push away any thoughts or anything really. Also, don’t hold onto anything. Simply be the observer and allow things to play out as they are. You will notice a natural silence will occur naturally without any effort. If you do this for a little while as a practice it will work its way into your life if you are blessed with grace. You simply become the observer and let life play out as it naturally would. Without this holding on or pushing away there is now nothing to feed the mind momentum and the pendulum will naturally reach a resting place of harmony. If you have more questions about allowing if I didn’t explain well enough don’t hesitate to ask.

So there it is people, enlightenment is simple. There’s no mystical shit, no higher state, nothing. It’s all nothing. It is being in touch with reality as it is. Being balanced. Really here so to speak and not in your own little reality that has caused you all this suffering your whole life. It has all been nothing, this may frustrate the shit out of you but it is true. It is simply energy at play. Enlightenment is like eating an apple, it can only be directly experienced to be fully ‘understood’ or ‘tasted’. If I tell you an apple is sweet you know that’s not really how an apple tastes, chocolate is sweet too. Words cannot describe even how an apple tastes accurately. Do you think I could tell you what is like to be completely in harmony? If I try to describe it I will fail. Let go, be. Stop trying to seek for enlightenment and rest in your awareness. There is nowhere to be but here. Stop fueling the fire.

Cheers, much love.

It’s good to finally hear that other people think like this! I believe the world’s greatest decadence is that too many people have perspectives that, at their foundations, keep them from accepting a new perspective.

Nick (554) (@splashartist) 8 years, 10 months ago ago

@spacelord, That too is still just a belief. :) Haha cheers!

When I think of an apple I think it should taste like an apple. Chocolate though, that can be produced in different flavors. “That’s why if you are searching for yourself in this illusionary reality you will be finding yourself to the day you die.” – That sounds like you’ll be lacking character until the day you die. I agree with your explanation about the pendulum of emotions, bullshit frustrates people and it’s a normal emotion/reaction.

Nick (554) (@splashartist) 8 years, 10 months ago ago

@beyond, What was meant by that was, you can’t tell someone actually how an apple tastes besides saying its sweet or saying it tastes like an apple. You have to directly experience the flavour to actually know what one tastes like. Does that make sense now? As for lacking character I would have to agree, glad you pointed that out! Cheers :)

Touche @splashartist! However, you mentioned the problem of language. Anything that is not classified as a priori is relative, thus making all a posteriori statements beliefs of varying degree. In other words, the result is that all a posteriori statements are operating on a logical fallacy of postulation. Buuuuut, language is practical for all intents and purposes, so stay classy.

@spacelord, No doubt, damn dualistic words! I get what your saying I’m just playing the game.

@splashartist, when i came here to read post i was expecting some sort of love, grow etc. shit, but then i was like #pukerainbows hahahahaah. How can somebody have figured this out too? I had similar arguement with my christian friend, it was about ego, perception etc. I just called enlightning understanding :P. There is so much things i would like to say about this subject but my english is not so good and it would take me forever to write it down. Only thing i will say is (this is just my opinion, i would be glad if you correct me :D) that you can only fully understand when u die. Sounds a bit dumb but i think that we can never fully seperate from our body while alive. Oooo man i would so much like to explain this better and if you want, i could, just say. But count on few days with no respond :P

@bono95zg, We inhabit these bodies until we die so yes we are definitely still tied to them. Cheers! :)

@splashartist, I completely believe this bc ive experienced it but I am totally caught up in my negative energy. are there directions?? lol

[Hidden]
Nick (554) (@splashartist) 8 years, 10 months ago ago

@anjelica, Rest into the feeling of being caught up in your negative feelings. Like I stated, use the state of allowing. Don’t hold on to the feelings but don’t push them away either. This is just a large wave of mind momentum. Using allowing will make the momentum much easier to deal with. There’s nothing to do with it. Good luck :)

@splashartist, Yep, yep, yep! You got it, Nick and an awesome symphony of words to explain/describe/relate the word-less. Mind if I copy and paste it in my documents file to have to share with others? Also, @bono95zg wrote: “How can somebody have figured this out too?” Truth is truth, and it’s is innate and so not so much “figuring out” as it is a revealing of “itself” through our cerebral which we express, or attempt to express in language. And it is the same, because truth is truth without variation. Really is, actually, very simple (as you know). peace, love & light ~ ricky

@splashartist, hmmm. i have been stuck in a pretty constant state of melancholy for quite a while… I didn’t think about not allowing myself to feel my feelings.. I wonder, what do you do with them?

[Hidden]
Nick (554) (@splashartist) 8 years, 10 months ago ago

@anjelica, Don’t label it as anything, just rest in the feeling. It’s so simple that more questions seem to arise out of you. This is the minds natural tendency, just observe this. It is nothing. Don’t do anything with any of it, just let it be.

nice and all, but seems to just be a projection of your own subjective views on the essence of the world. if its all in good intention thats all that matters though man. or maybe im too lazy to read your whole post, im coming up on an intense amount of mushies right now i wish there was an emoticon that expressed by Self right now. maybe this is close

:D

Nick (554) (@splashartist) 8 years, 10 months ago ago

@kazi, Yes, you must have skipped some of it. I express in it that the subjective ‘I’ is the problem in the way of enlightenment. It is not ‘my’ way of viewing the world. It is just the world as it is. nothing more, nothing less.
Cheers :)

@splashartist, I usually explain this from a different perspective, correct me if I misinterpreted your message, but I feel that it says the same thing.

There is only one current reality that actually exists. I define this reality as the organization of all things (energy/atoms, what have you) within space-time. There can only BE one reality.

However, human beings have evolved a brain that is capable of remembering things, taking mental snapshots and videos of that reality. We can also use our brains to make predictions about the future state of things. We do this ALL the time, on a regular basis. It’s practical, it’s part of the reason why we’ve been able to create the civilization we live in. For all it’s merits, this gift has it’s downsides. By utilizing this false reality (past memories and future predictions) we pull ourselves away from the actual reality.

We’ve evolved to be in harmony with the actual reality. Through our senses we can FEEL our surroundings, HEAR sounds, SEE beautiful colors in things, SMELL odors, and TASTE things. When experienced objectively, these sensations are always remarkable and thus lead our minds to be consumed by awe and contemplation.

An issue arises when we start to rely on SUBJECTIVE realities to guide our lives. This means many things.

Firstly, living within the memories in our mind puts us in a reality that no longer exists. Not only does it no longer exist, but our memories of those realities are imperfect representations, and thus will never be as beautiful as the present state of the universe. It’s obvious why thinking about upsetting memories will bring you down, but positive memories will do the same. This is because when we compare a very positive memory to the present, we get upset that our present is not as subjectively positive. Many people who dwell on the past are depressed.

Secondly, making predictions about the future makes us worry. When we make predictions about the future, we are concerned with our WANTS. When we want things and we don’t get them, it makes us upset. We worry that our wants will lead to disappointment. But what if we get our wants, won’t we be happy then? Yes, we will be happy, but that happiness is short lived and will lead to us to more want. People who look to the future are often anxious.

Finally, even when we’ve learned to put aside the past and take our minds off the future, we face the obstacle of comparison within the present. Like I’ve mentioned, there is no greater satisfaction than experiencing the world around us OBJECTIVELY. Once we begin to experience our observations through a lens clouded by our personal biases, opinions, and beliefs, we start to see the world subjectively. This is comparison. We no longer take things for what they are and marvel at the beauty that is present within it, but how it LACKS beauty in relation to other things. This is all relative and subjective.

Everything is miraculous when taken alone, in the absence of all other things. Experience, enjoy, and love things as they are and as they come, and you will live a happy life.

Nick (554) (@splashartist) 8 years, 10 months ago ago

@acexiii, Sure, that works wonders. Like I stated, reality as it is. No filters, no momentum. Cheers!
