So lately I have realized there is an intention by every single thought and action. From finding motivation, to lying, there is always a conscious intent evident. For example, someone who is lying is aware they are lying while they are doing so, but unless they are a good liar, the other person usually has an idea they are being lied to. I realize some simple things like getting out of bed when I am depressed or helping someone out even have conscious intent. Hell, on the occasion when I am really depressed I even realize I somewhat have the conscious intent of not having the will to live.
I believe that our consciousness, and everyone else’s are linked together and form a collective consciousness. With this belief I started thinking, could my conscious intent influence others? Could my apathy influence others? I came to the conclusion that it’s absolutely possible. I now wonder how much an individuals apathy in our modern world can influence everyone around them, and everyone else collectively. Many people hope to change the world, but many people aren’t willing to risk their own lives to better theirs or others around them. Knowing this I hope to be the best I can be, because I have learned that life takes risk to earn reward and if I consciously intend to do be my best, I hope that it will rub off on others, not just through appearance, but maybe on some level this intention can trickle down into the collective consciousness.
@v1kingfan; conscious intent, or “will” is all there is! How we CHOOSE to utilize this is completely up to us as individuals.
I don’t know if you’ve checked out my website, but it basically deals with everything you are describing here. Check it out! http://www.thinknowlivenow.com
Most people are extremely unaware of the subtle influence that will/willpower has on their conscious intent; fantastic thread! I’m interested to see what others have to say on this topic, as I could easily write about it all day : )
@v1kingfan, Something I learned recently/am learning and realizing is that anything we do, say, or think is contributing to the direction we are heading. Any type of energy exerted is building and adding to something whether we think of it in that way or not. Consider how quickly habits are formed, for example.
We are very nonchalant and blase about our thoughts and actions, not realizing that we are constantly shaping ourselves and consequently those around us. Imagine our potential if we were to consciously direct our thoughts and actions with purpose, at all times.
This thread makes me happy. There’s no way I can miraculously prevent lies or manipulation though. The only thing I could do is not letting them bring me down, they’re already expected.
To make things a little more simple and true for all the people considering that note: “I believe that our consciousness, and everyone else’s are linked together and form a collective consciousness.”
Real life examples don’t require us to force our intentions and lie to ourselves, we go either instinctively or from experience, we can redirect it, but in an environment with another person different than yourself everything can be believed as true. With more than one person around you, your every thought is influenced, and collective thinking is influenced by the opinion of the majority. And people dismiss their own potential when they’re in a group, especially if the environment is stressful or highly influential.
We’re not all one big collective consciousness, because we have the power to not believe in that idea. Our minds are the big consciousness with the potential to learn and make choices. That’s what we do always and constantly learning about, or remembering ourselves. How things shape depend on the faith, or the fear of how things shape. Trust your instincts.
