Create an original wise quotation.

Create something you believe is wise and can make all of us ponder an bit. Have fun with it. Or do as you choose.

Here is mine for now.

“As any wise fellow can note. Having just a little something to wipe your butt with is better than nothing at all”

In our search to make sense of the world there is great temptation to connect the dots and extrapolate a pattern with only a few data points, because not knowing makes us feel unsettled.

Well I’ve just made an account right now so that I could reply to this thread. Dedication. I wrote this to myself a couple of days ago in attempt to record what I’d been thinking about. I feel like I should share it. It’s a metaphor for the explanation of the ‘brain hurt’ we get when we try to think about unimaginable things like infinity.

“The fire of selection pressure rages on a cliff edge. Forced by the heat of the flames, the brain acts as a platform on which our ancestors backed onto, cowering from the embers. As the fire grew, the platform was lengthened, preventing their fall as they retreated. As the brain developed, the platform stretched out further and further. As I stand now in the cool breeze, peering out into the distance, sometimes I catch a glimpse of what I cannot hope to understand”.

@Gritty, Jump! And fly off the platform which confines us to what we think we know

@Seanw
, I’m not sure if this is original or creative, but I always remind myself that: This is all trivial!

The foolish woman thinks she is wise. The wise man thinks he is foolish.

I may not have originated this idea, but I did to me.

First
If society loathes violence then why does it give people “power” to stop it?

Second
According to the Bible God is eternal and loving. Thus in order to see God we must Meditate on that which is permanent for if he is loving he is revealing and if we are created in his image it is through our eternal selves that we can see him, he is not invisible meditate.

“If you feel it, you won’t fear it.”
Im referring to how if you feel your emotions instead of trying to run from them, you’ll realize theyre not so bad after all, so you wont fear them.
