Death of the Ego

I’ve heard about how meditation and psychedelic drugs can cause “the death” of your ego. This is to say that you can feel so much as one with the oneness of the universe that the part of you which recognizes I as an individual becomes dormant. Buddhism teaches there is no self, and once that idea becomes true for you it feels like the self, or ego, is gone; there is no more what you think of yourself, there is only the you. Humans are fundamentally two entities- the ego and the soul- and one the soul overcomes the ego, the self is no more.

I’m interested in thoughts or experiences of the HEthens wherein your ego has vanished due to a spiritual path. I had an awakening that killed my ego. After nearly two years of meditative practice and much soul searching, one day I woke up and felt like I was God on Earth. I felt full, soulful, after a lifetime of emptiness. My brain was reproducing the chemicals that it would on a DMT trip I imagine. It was surreal, I ended up checking into a mental hospital because the feeling was super intense. I got some meds but I never came back down from that experience. Anyone else relate to a snap into enlightenment, a soul alive through an ego dead?

I suffer  from  remembrance,  of  being  before  I was  born

And  I am serious.

I had  a stay  in the womb of  4weeks  longer.

This is an interesting concept. Describe your memory.

It has  to do with  absolutely  know  each other.  That things are  what  they seem.  Not what they  pretend.  It has  to do something  with  clearness.,honesty.

You are  you and you are  completely  interchangeable.   I had  similar  experiences  when  I lived  from  weeds and roots in nature.  Without  any bought  food.  You get  clear  mindless.  You  are.

And  I know  I have chosen  for earthlife  too.  But earth  is the heavy  atmosphere :-))

I understand what you are saying. May I give some advice on your path? You’ll need to figure out how to balance the God Mind / Soul / One Consciousness and the Physical reality Mind / Personality / Character You play. We live in a Duality. Science has actually proven this concept. In Quantum Physics, we see that All atomic particles are both waves & particles. They change due to the observed reality. If there is no observer, no ego, then all energy and matter functions as the wave function. The wave function is possibility. The particle structure is physical reality. Therefore, the big secret meaning of all. Is that in this life, you can be here and now, and also no where at all. As a supreme being, we have the ability to tap into all knowledge all energy, and we can choose to play our character / ego. Awareness of yourself and the world around you is key. You should take steps to develop your physical health. Your emotional health. Your mental and intellectual knowledge base. All of these aspects of our human experience connect to the higher spiritual self. And most importantly, concentrate on love for yourself and others. Love and Light.

I would highly recommend you read a book called Navigating into the Second Cognition by Endall Beall. This books describes the transition phase of moving away from ego into a higher state of cognitive awareness. In fact, you might want to read all the books in The Evolution of Consciousness series and others by Endall Beall as well. He explains what this DMT-like high you are feeling is and also its origin in Demystifying the Mystical and the latest book I just read called Operator’s Manual for the True Spirit Warrior. I have found these books to be utterly life altering with hard-hitting (and sometimes hard to accept) principles, but the information in the books I found highly valuable and informative.

WHAT THE FUCK. Can you describe this way more. Was it just another ordinary day and you woke up feeling like this? Do you think something triggered it? You say you believe meditative practice and soul searching caused it. Can you elaborate on the soul searching part and how you think that attributed to this experience? I really wish you could go into 1000x more detail on what you were (or still are) experiencing, visually, emotionally, physically, etc. What was so crazy about it that you checked yourself into a mental hospital?
