recently, i have felt dizzy when i close my eyes to start meditating, it feel like the space around me is spinning. this happens as soon as i close my eyes and the imbalance changes almost instantly when i open them. i looked for things on line and it says that it can be that i need more contact with our earth (im ungrounded). i know for sure i havent been spending time in nature and how good it felt when id just lie on the grass or walk barefooted. i got a full-time job in the beginning of january and have been adjusting to the schedule and dealing with emotions, thoughts about this that i have not yet been able to fit a healthy and constant practice to release and replenish.
has anybody experienced something similar? could it be that- an imbalance?
If it happens all the time when you close your eyes you could have an inner ear problem. Although it could be that the fact that your brain takes a lot of its cues from your sense of sight. So when you do close your eyes try placing your hands on the floor or ground around you. Also sometimes during mediation with you become ultimately relaxed your body may start to prepare itself for sleep which causes that spinning in an abyss feeling, which has happened to me. Try some these and if they don’t help then maybe try nature walks and doing some yoga with chakra work. Hope this helps.
@zinver, luckily it doesnt happen all the time, but it has happened several times.
it doesnt feel like the body is getting ready to go to sleep. the spinning actually prevents me from falling into a state of rest which is why i have to open my eyes- it just feels wrong. thanks for sharing your thoughts, i want to try the yoga w. chakra work.
martijn and eric, i tried but it feels like a hangover X a 100. i havent been able to wait one out- shall have to work on this.
