Do we need money?

There has already been a couple of posts on this site discussing the possibility of a world not based on money. One of the ideas being kicked around involves the concept of a resource-based economIc system (RBE). An RBE is dependent upon the efficient and strategic distribution of global resources and is more concerned with the overall macro-level good of society rather than what we see today: a system where only a select few parts of society flourish through the employment (read: exploitation) of the majority of the population. In the RBE model, humanity’s technological advancements fuel progress and allows people to enjoy a higher standard of living that is free from the bondage of the current monetary system the world continues to use.

My main question is wouldn’t this form of economy easily be subject to corruption from those in charge of organizing and distributing the world’s resources? Do you guys even think humanity right now could achieve such a system at this point in our development as a species, or does humanity need to evolve a little more as a whole for this to occur?

I think that is what Communism had in mind when it started, but it failed to deliver. May be we need to evolve more. It is really sad we evolved from natural living to a life centered around money

We need a representation for value. At this point in time, money is the least shitty option
