Do you ever feel like the universe interacts directly with your life

Brandon Phillips (@brandonphillips) 8 years, 9 months ago

Please refrain from saying that this is gods way of directing my life and working through me. I’ve found that the word universe and god can be interchangable, but I’d like to keep this on the mindset of it being the universe. Anyways, sometimes it seems as though things happen or don’t happen for the strict reason that I am involved, to sort of tell me something. For a small example, our xbox recently started having a hardware malfunction. We lost our data for a while and couldn’t play it, then we got it fixed. My brother has been playing it the most, he hasn’t had a problem with it again, but as soon as I go to turn it on the same problem as before arises. I feel like this is the universes way of telling me to get off the couch and do something productive or learn. Like I said, this is only one small example for it was the one that I could think of right away. Now you can call these things a heap of coincidences but that will only stop the discussion if everyone submits to it. Just to go ahead and put this out there, I’m already aware of the possibility that yes, it may just be a bunch of coincidences, blah blah blah. So don’t waste your time. I’m looking for people who would have a personal input on this notion that there could be something giving us a push in a certain direction in life.

”do you ever feel the universe interacts directly with your life?” what makes you so sure that you are separate from this universe? If your life is just part of the universe then of course its interacting with you because you are IT. It isn’t some hidden message until you give the belief that it is. There is something to learn from life everyday if you let it teach you with open arms.

@brandonphillips, I’ve recently experienced similar thoughts.

Perhaps it is some sort of nudge on behalf of the universe. Regardless, the acknowledgement and subsequent interpretation of the act(s) themselves remain. You can look at it two ways as far as I’m concerned, that someone else is telling you something, or that you yourself are saying something. Either way, something is being said. Does it matter who the orator is?

@splashartist, I feel like you’re focusing on the wrong thing.. That may have just been poor word choice. I have difficulty articulating my thoughts and ideas.

@brandonphillips, I was going to answer yes, the universe interacts with you. Then I saw nick’s answer and I like his better. The universe and you are not separate. It interacts with you the way you want it to even if you aren’t aware of it. But it seems like you are. Next time you think the universe is trying to tell you something, go with it and see what happens. It might be fun. Or just start with that incident. Question why you think the universe is telling you not to play Xbox but within you. I believe the universe is always talking to you but that’s something you should explore on your own and find your own truth. Oh and I don’t believe in coincidences.

@brandonphillips, like I stated which I felt answered your question well, it isn’t some ‘universal’ sign until you give belief or knowing to that idea. The universe will unfold as it unfolds, if you want to be open to letting life flow as it is (which is wonderfully synchronistic and perfect in a sense) then it is your choice to do so. There’s nothing special about it at all. It is only when you are aware and open will life show you the correct path to follow. Until you give up the idea that you have control and only cater to your thoughts of how things ‘should’ be will you truly flow with life as it is.

@brandonphillips,

It’s a self contained realization. Like a self-fulfilling prophecy. We are the universe experiencing itself. So these little “synchronicities” are literally our own interpretations being treated as our own truths.

The xbox failing you means absolutely nothing. Everything means nothing. We give things meaning and we attach labels to things. The very fact that you felt this was a sign from the “universe” is YOUR OWN SUBCONSCIOUS telling you what you want.

Stop playing the xbox as often if you are interpreting the happenings of your life in this manner.

Ya you’re right this definitely DOES HAPPEN! And count yourself very fortunate that you’re getting that direction.

Story….

I started a business recently. But I was a bit dis at ease about it. I was soon to launch it. Then I got a really long vivid dream. The dream was telling me that specific biz would lead to trouble. I woke up, thinking….”wow that was crazy!” and at first I was like “okay maybe I shouldn’t do that business”. So I stopped for about 2 weeks. Then some time went by. I got complacent and I thought….”well that was just a dream. If I get the same dream again then I’ll know it was for real”. And I started working on the same business to try and open it up. ….Shortly after I got the same dream again, very vivid etc etc. It was nuts! So I woke up and shut it all down and i was like no I’m not to do that business. It was the weirdest thing I’ve ever come across. But I know it’s the universes way of showing me what to do and what not to do. I just wish it would show me “exactly what to do next”. Not just warn me about what “not to do”. That what bugs me. Because I just feel helpless like I don’t know what biz to work on next.

Why would you not want to call the universe by a name such as “God,” if you believe that it is in some way omniscient? Some may believe that their lives are being guided by the Universe, or that they are able to be swayed in a certain direction, but that does infer that there is the presence of not an omnipotent god, but one that is all knowing.
There is a blog post on this site called “How to Read the Signs of the Universe” [https://www.highexistence.com/how-to-read-the-signs-of-the-universe/].That, in itself, is really what I think you are doing. Whether there is some type of guiding force behind the coincidences or not—your perception during, or your conclusion after—an event, is the real determining force. I try to not believe that there is something controlling symbols around me, but that there is an ambiguity in the universe, and that within this ambiguity I may find meaning. The world is but a stage—a poem, even. When one begins to read between the lines of its verses, truth is unveiled to us. Create your own meaning.
Here’s an idea you might like. Man is “condemned to be free.”

@brandonphillips, Watch a good movie, and ask yourself what the significance is of something happening. Notice how a good movie will have things happening that develop the story. This is the universal language of feedback.

Even this post, and all if its replies interacts with me. Its all about making the right choices. Make the right choice, you will be rewarded. Make the wrong choice, you will be penalized. Once you recognize what the universe, or God, or whatever you want to call it is telling you, making the right choices becomes easier and easier. I almost feel like I am cheating at this game of life sometimes, by taking advantage of the signs I am given.

@brandonphillips, absolutely, especially the “law of attraction”

For example: 10 minutes ago I really wanted some candy. Without even saying anything out loud (and not even leaving my bed) my sister comes home with a huge bag of Reece’s pieces… Then when I felt the need to not explode the candy all over my room, I randomly found red scissors next to my alam clock that I accidentally left there days before…score! Haha

Don’t look for signs. They eventually stop speaking to you after you should have learned your lesson.

@epath, I never look for signs, I simply recognize them as they occur. If they are in fact signs.

@brandonphillips, yes recognizing them as signs or not is tricky.
