Well I think you’d need a little money just to get out the country you reside in. But after that, I believe it is possible to travel without any more money. You can get side jobs to earn a bit of money, then move onto the next place. It’s part of the adventure of travel. I hope myself one day can travel the world with as little money as possible, experience the cultural side and visit the beauty that lies within and out of this earth.
Good luck!

Are you sure you need money to leave a country?

In our human rights it says we have the right to leave a country, including our home country, and we also have the right to give up our nationality?

So if we don’t have money a country has the right to break your human rights and keep you there?

What if for example I was to hitch hike and get a ride across the channel.. i wonder how they would react if turned up with no money and no passport claiming my human rights :P

haha

I HOPE YOU GET TO TRAVEL SOON BROTHER!! you wont regret it when you do it :) best thing i ever done!

When you put it like that, you’re correct.
I guess it just depends if someone is nice enough to give you a helping hand and let you ride with them ;)

I hope so too! I want to experience this life to the max!

We do have human rights and we should be completely free to travel wherever we want to on the planet because borders don’t technically exist & no one really owns this land. But governing bodies have rules & they have the ability to completely disregard your human rights if you break their rules.

If you live in the US then I’m sure there are ways you can cross borders and travel to other countries in the Americas without money or a passport but they’re probably extremely dangerous & you’d have to rely on the good deeds of other people.

But I’d say it is nearly impossible to cross any ocean without any money or a passport. If you don’t die, you’ll probably get detained & jailed/ sent back to your home country.

I was thinking international travel in my response. If you want to travel within your own country, it is much easier to do without money. You can hitchhike, couch surf, homeless shelters, work exchange, hop on trains, etc. lol. Just takes a great deal of determination, confidence & perseverance.

The guy I mentioned in the USAToday article got free rides on ships… Crossing the ocean is not a challenge. Cargo ships do it all the time and are always in need of laborers. Then you have cruise ships, private yachts, science vessels…

You know what, you’re right. We are our own limits. If you want to do something bad enough you will find a way to make it happen.

well, “ho-bos” do it. the answer is yes. u have to be able to let go of all expectations. i met a guy from florida, and im in ohio, he said he has hitched rides as long as 3 months going cross country. he was then on his way to cali, where he met some1 on his journeys prior, and got hired under the table to help harvest bud… so he just makes his fucking way to the west coast [(all for free) {he played guitar, earned food money etc.{classic}] when its time. his reason i asked… he was sick of college bullshit and life basically . he left with no money i believe.

guess where met him? guitar center – jamming in the acoustic room…. sparked a convo.. eventually gave him a ride 15 mins away and smoked a bowl or 2…. alllll this cuz he decided to do something he loved, and i was doing the same (just jamming at guitar center) –

This guy did it, traveling across America. They made a TV show about this sort of thing as well both from a US and international perspective. Several people have done it. Also a article from USAToday here on doing it worldwide…
