Doing what i love.

So i know my 20’s havent been the straight line of development of go to school, get a job, buy a house and get married, but i feel like I’ve started using a tool that’s a huge win-win for me and the people and the people around me.

I haven’t paid a penny for rent since may of this year. Instead I made a decision to find a way to present my skills in a way that supports others. I’ve been relying on relationships to empower me to follow my own passions. I’ve been working on a small goat farm in exchange for rent. I have a notebook to track hours and help with chores around the farm. Over the summer i built a greenhouse for my first host, and in the last three months I’ve been able to build a fully functioning aquaponic system. I still work a full time job and my income can be used for projects that i really care about.

I’m literally paying off debts, developing skills, eating some of the freshest local food, and enjoying the process.

Thought it’d be worth mentioning to this community, if anyone can see value in trying a different approach.

That’s amazing! Some of us are just made to enjoy life the unorthodox way. I bought a house when I was 21 and just woke up and decided I was not meant for that life. Luckily the guy I bought it with is amazing and he takes care of the house even though it’s still in both our names. I get to travel all the time. I now work for a ski resort and i’m always in search of my next adventure. I don’t think i’ll ever “settle”. I’ve had friends from back home comment that they wish they were living the life I am. I always tell them you can! Just go be free and you can manifest anything you want your life to be. I feel like most people I meet are controlled by their fears. They are afraid to live life differently than everyone else around them or what their parents have ingrained is the way.
