@rattailbaby, A lot of obvious realities exposed, but great reminders nonetheless.

@optimystic, It does a great job at putting shit in perspective, especially for the people who are still stuck in a conditioned reality, which is mostly everybody. This is what got me questioning, and lead me to find my spirituality.

@rattailbaby, Im sorry, but did you really just post a video produced by North Korea depicting Western Culture? You do know that North Korea puts 95% of all of its resources into feeding, housing and training its military then gives its citizens whatever is left, resulting in mass starvation and poverty?

I mean, the message in the video might be a good message like you say, but the makers of any video is important to note beforehand. And anything North Korea has to say is just bullshit. I cant watch the video because I wont be able to take it seriously. Thats like watching Hitler talk about human rights.

@yoinkie, You make a good point, but do you believe for a second that they’d take anything that WE say seriously? Everything is biased. That’s a rudimentary concept that you’ve known for quite a while. The United States is as foreign a country as North Korea.

The video is propaganda in itself. 10% of Americans can’t find the US on a map?? Did I hear that right? So silly. Reality tv has presented a huuuuge problem for our society though. It’s completely right that it’s glorified being vain, self absorbed and talentless. Super depressing to see people I love and consider brilliant and capable of rising above something so silly still tune in to Love and Hip Hop and Real Housewives. Bleh

RadiantChild (106) (@rattailbaby) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@yoinkie, Yeah its from North Korea, but doesnt mean the people who made this agree with their leaders or the direction their country is headed. Its not like it was made from the whole country itself. Probably human beings like you and me that want to see change in the world. The only difference is where they were raised. It doesnt matter who its from. Its the only video that I’ve seen, of its kind.

yoinkie (1,498)C (@yoinkie) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@rattailbaby, North Korea is a totalitarian police state, meaning any and all media coming in or out of the country are first viewed by its government. They dont have Facebook or any other social media, and their internet access is completely monitored and restricted. You can not post “South Korea is awesome!” on any site from any computer in North Korea without the government seeing it and removing it, and probably throwing you in jail. They have over 200,000 civilian prisoners, who disobeyed their country or reflected them negatively. So im pretty sure that this video is either made by a government figure, or someone who is influential in it, not some random citizen.

Also, I watched a bit of the video, and their claims are based off tv and film alone. Do you really think our media reflects the American way of life completely? Or even partially? Because, IMO, Our reality shows are a very very weak representation of what Americans are.

RadiantChild (106) (@rattailbaby) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@beniandtheuniverse, You’d be surprised how dumb Americans are -__- Yeah its propaganda about propaganda. Doesnt make it bad? If you watch the whole documentary, with an open mind, youll find that alot of what is being said extremely eye opening.
@optimystic, @yoinkie, And i just read that it was not made by North Korea. It was made by some film makers wanting to make a documentary to wake people up. They wanted to make as many people as possible interested enough in it to give it a chance. And it worked. But again, who made it doesnt matter.

yoinkie (1,498)C (@yoinkie) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@optimystic, North Korea is basically a cult. Its citizens are brainwashed to love their leader and nothing but their leader. Anyone who speaks up against the regime is instantly thrown into jail without a trial. They dont tell anyone in the world what they do, and hide everything in secrecy. Everything is controlled, EVERYTHING. How is America as foreign a country as them?

Also, I watched parts of the video. One part talked about Madonna is only thinking about her self because she adopts from third world countries, when America has tons of starving homeless kids of its own. How is that not propaganda? Of all the things to complain about, how is that one? Who cares where they adopt from, as long as one kid has a roof to sleep under? Im guessing that entire video is full of propoganda anti american crap just like that.

[Hidden]
RadiantChild (106) (@rattailbaby) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@yoinkie, No that was just one of many different examples. One part of the video. Idk how you can be so against this video. They were just pointing out that her buying a child from Africa is propaganda on its own. Its good propaganda because shes helping a kid have a home, but shes doing it for the publicity. Dont judge the video because of that one part. Thats being very closed minded.

“Style over substance.”
Kind of biased though, North Korea does the same but in a different kind of propaganda. It takes one to know one.
@yoinkie, The maker obviously had a political opinion in comparison to North Korea. Have you been there? (OH GOD ALL NORTH KOREANS CAN GO TO HELL, UGH)
Seems like you’re one of the propaganda filled people the video is talking about.

yoinkie (1,498)C (@yoinkie) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@motorik, Where did I talk anything negative about the people of North Korea? You obviously did not read any of my comments.

I’m filled with propoganda? Ive learned of the human rights violations happening in North Korea from multiple websites, government statements(not just USA, numerous countries) the UN, NATO, I could go on. The truth of the matter is there is 200,000+ civilians in jail in North Korea because they spoke up against their regime. Millions have been killed in the last 40 years for the same reason.

Where is my propoganda? I’m bringing facts from the mother fucking United Nations. You are backing up a video made on youtube. Whose bringing propoganda?

@rattailbaby, I believe I watched with as open a mind as any. Even expressed that I agreed with a point… Trying to push an agenda by over-generalizing or making up numbers just isn’t considered the most respectable way to deliver information. I didn’t come up with that criteria, it’s how many people avoid being spoon fed bull shit. I’m glad it affected you, it should, it makes you think but there is plenty of well thought out and presented information about our society’s flaws and media control. I don’t know that this ‘documentary’ is featuring anything that hasn’t already been said in a less biased light.

@yoinkie, I’m sorry. I have a hard time trusting the UN.

RadiantChild (106) (@rattailbaby) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@beniandtheuniverse, … okay lets stop. Your missing the point here. Its just a video trying to wake people up. Its better than then staying in their conditioned state, that they’ve known all their life. Everyone on this thread is nibbling at eachother. Again who cares who made it, watch the documentary and take what you get.

[Hidden]
yoinkie (1,498)C (@yoinkie) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@mwinship13, you dont need to, nor should you trust one source for all your information, ever. Ive made my assumptions of North Korea based off of many different outlets and sources. The key to getting the full story is to approach it from many different angles and viewpoints.

Thats why I hate this video. Its complete propaganda and only serves one purpose. It uses blatently false facts to try and pass a message across. At one point it said Michael Jackson became white because he didnt want to be a black man in America. It said that Americans favor war because of all the violent video games they make and play; blatently ignoring the fact that almost all video games are made in foreign countries and distributed across the world. Just because we own the most video game consoles and what not has no corelation to the violent nature of our country. When people make these dumbass remarks, it makes me think they are stupid. Yes, we are violent. Yes, we waste money on pointless wars. But saying its because of video games is beyond ignorant and dumb.

It makes the assumptions that all americans are this way based off information obtained from tv and media.

I’m actually offended at that. I watch tv, I watch movies, and I play video games. Im not “sterile” or brain washed to think less, or any of the things mentioned in this video. If you are weak minded, THEN you will be brainwashed by reality tv. Saying that tv is trying its best to make us robots is fucking stupid. You can watch tv for entertainment, or you can be an idiot and watch it and think its life. Tv isnt making you do anything, you CHOOSE to watch tv.

Stop blaming televisions for your own stupidity; Your stupid because you choose to be lazy and sit around and watch tv all day when you could have gone out and had conversations, or read a book. But what this movie is saying, and what people up there^^ are agreeing with, is that TV is making America stupid. No, its not. Your own stupidity is making you stupid. STOP. BLAMING. EVERYTHING. BLAME YOURSELF.

@yoinkie, Then you obviously havent watched the whole documentary, its talking about every single type of propaganda. The whole video is an hour long. It goes to both sides of the spectrum. This documentary needs to be spread. Its purpose is to wake those unaaware and unconcious up to our true reality. Idk why you are so resistant to it, its not like it could do any damage to those watching.

[Hidden]
yoinkie (1,498)C (@yoinkie) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@rattailbaby, Ya, you’re right this video wont have any negative impact if it was spread. Other then the fact that it will make people hate Americans for stupid and idiotic reasons. And things that happen on television are not are true reality. You really want to spread awareness with a video that says “11% of Americans can not point USA out on a map.” Ive never met a single person in my life that didnt know how to do that, yet the video says 1 in 10 people dont.

You have to be kidding me.

[Hidden]
RadiantChild (106) (@rattailbaby) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@yoinkie, You havent even watched the video.. how can you make any assumption about it at all.

[Hidden]
Beni (110)C (@beniandtheuniverse) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@rattailbaby, That’s exactly what everyone who has responded is doing. You just don’t like what you’re hearing. If you wanted to share the video you could have uploaded it to the convenient video section of this website. If you want to talk about it, have a discussion with others who have different perspectives on it, then you start a topic. I can’t ignore that the video was made with most likely the express intention to be propaganda even as I consider its points. I don’t understand what’s getting you upset, I’ve agreed with you and disagreed but you’re only focusing on the way I questioned the source. You should always question a source. You should question everything, even that which is trying to get you to question everything.

Anonymous (328) (@) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@yoinkie, That’s EXACTLY my point. It is just a YOUTUBE video made by one guy, with his view, his opinion. I think it’s just too petty to over react and generalize North Korea as the black sheep of the world.(Overkill, really but hey that’s how Americans think right? DABUR DUR DAH!!)
Yes the government sure sucks balls over there but they surely are the losers compared to the world.
It’s all about perspective. Just like my last comment; you are seemingly the same as that guy who made the video, but the American counter part

[Hidden]
yoinkie (1,498)C (@yoinkie) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@motorik, Over react? More than 200,000 North Koreans, including children, are imprisoned in camps where many perish from forced labor, inadequate food, and abuse by guards. Arbitrary arrest, lack of due process, and torture are pervasive problems. There is no independent media, functioning civil society, or religious freedom. Government policies have continually subjected North Koreans to food shortages and famine. The government keeps most wages earned by its civilians. It uses almost entirety of its taxes on building its miltary and training. Several countries have attempted to enter North Korea to see the severeness of the problems, but have been denied repeatedly. All of these accusations have been made by thousands and thousands of people formerly living in North Korea. Would you like me to talk slower so you can understand better? OK

Completely monitored Internet/phone/media
complete Government control over all media
No freedom to practice religion
No freedom of speech
Prison for even going against any policy made by the regime

Yes, I am the counterpart of the guy who made the video. The guy who made the video hates America because we watch crappy reality tv, and try to market ourselves by adopting from overseas when people at home need help. I’m talking about people in North Korea dying because they had the nerves to talk negatively about their government.

@motorik, Are you an idiot?

[Hidden]
yoinkie (1,498)C (@yoinkie) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@beniandtheuniverse, “You should always question a source. You should question everything, even that which is trying to get you to question everything.”

Thank you. People on this website are so radical in their thinking and hatred of the American way that they blatently believe anything said against America. They call it an “Awakening, awareness, blah blah blah”.

Question everything people. EVERYTHING. You are just as big of tools as the people that question nothing and take things for face value.

@yoinkie, Then again, it’s a fuckin youtube video. Yeah I do get that the world is a sad place, boo fucking hoo. Go ahead and nuke North Korea, Mr. Yoinkie.

Take this as a perfect example: You think I’m an idiot, and I think you are full of shit. Perspective. So please go ahead and keep posting details about how bad their country is.

[Hidden]
yoinkie (1,498)C (@yoinkie) 9 years, 2 months ago ago

@motorik, Fair enough. Lets help each other out; I’ll tell you why I think you are an idiot, then you tell me why you think Im full of shit.

you are an idiot, because here I am talking about liberating people living under an oppresive and tyranical government, and you think I am talking about nuking an entire country, made up of innocent civilians living under a terrible regime. I want those people to have the same rights we do, not fucking Nuke them. Hence, you are an idiot because of the fact you do not read others comments before replying to them, and you make harsh accusations out of nowhere.

your turn. How am I full of shit, when I can provide 20+ websites/articles/whatever you want backing up everything I said? I can provide unbiased articles written by non-americans too. So please, help me; tell me how I am full of shit when I can back up every words I said. I’ll wait.
