Favorite Energetic / Workout Music

What is your favorite workout music?

I’m looking not only to expand my playlist but also to open up the discussion of our various sources of musical inspiration and energy.

I began this post because I’m a bit bored with my workout playlist. I tend towards pretty mellow, indie type music, so my high energy library is fairly limited. But beyond my own boredom and curiosity, I think it’s kind of a fun discussion to open up.

Very interested to hear your thoughts <3

I like lots of variety. Everyone has their own opinions, ESPECIALLY about music. I think the best thing I could do is give you some artists names, and you discover what you like from their catalog, because I’m sort of weird and if someone highly recommends a song or album I automatically lose interest in listening to it unless I personally discover it myself. I’m stubborn haha
1.) Chromatics
2.) ESG
3.) Purity Ring
4.) Thin Lizzy
5.) Todd Terje
6.) Youth Lagoon
7.) Black Sabbath (obviously)
8.) Fleetwood Mac
9.) Cut Copy
10.) DJ Falcon
Enjoy and hope you find something great!

Thanks for the recommendations! I like variety too, and have been getting bored listening to the same small loop at the gym…

if you like indie, grizzly bear is awesome, really chill and ambient and dreamy… some of my favorite songs by them are knife, ready able, and yet again.
and then minus the bear is my favorite indie band of all time, they are more upbeat and dance-able (and I suppose work-out-able as well). some good songs by them are el torrente, riddles, throwin’ shapes, double vision quest, and guns and ammo.

They’re so cool, if you haven’t heard the songs “Gun Shy” or “Sleeping Ute” yet I would check them out :)

Thanks, these are great recommendations. I love mumford, they’re usually about as high energy as my music gets so it’s helpful to have suggestions! Also, running to the lord of the rings soundtrack sounds… majestic ;-)
