God's Will, a myth

You often hear people, politicians, whoever… say that our country just needs to go back to following God’s Will and everything will be okay! God’s Will? Who determines what exactly God’s Will for us is? The President? Politicians? The Pope? The Mormon prophet? The Bible? I’m sorry, but our country following God’s will is just part of the giant myth of our society. Believing that we are so important and were created by God to be the center of the effing world, more important than anything else is what gives people, “us”, the mindset that we are important enough to destroy the world we live in.

I believe that God’s will (to me, God’s will is the natural energy of the universe… not Jesus or anything else derived from religion) is for us to stop being so fucking selfish as a species… to stop thinking that the world was created for humans to overindulge themselves in…. that we begin living in harmony with each other, with the earth, with the animals that we share the earth with.

God’s Will according to our mythical cultural beliefs, says that some God in the sky created humans to be all important and rule the earth and anything else that might inhabit the earth. This belief that we are so important, gives our society permission to live in overindulgence and destroy everything.

Humans are not as important as we think we are. If we don’t shift as a species into a new paradigm… a new way of thinking…. a perspective from outside the myth we live in… we will become extinct. It’s crazy to me that we are killing off the earth… leaving extinction for our future generations… and for what? Money? Power? Technology? The earth is deteriorating rapidly because of us… because of humans… and yet, our world is not concerned with this in the least… it’s like no big D… Our country isn’t concerned… “The Economy” is the number one issue when we consider who we will elect as our next president… The economy!!!! Really? The earth is dying and we’re worried about the economy… We’re worried about stuff and how we can get more stuff and how we can stop other people from taking my stuff… and the world is dying…. We are blind. The myth we live in is going to have a tragic ending.

@ijesuschrist, “Get in a room with the most positive believers of each and argue your hearts out that your gut feeling is right over the others. That your holy book is right over the others.”

They would not argue with me if they were truly positive believers.

“How can you possibly believe that your guy feeling of being correct and the ‘feel’ of God, is correct, and that God speaks to you and tells you you are correct, yet some 5 other billion people all claim the same message, yet under different premises, religions, etc?”

This is a weird question, and I already explained this before, and I believe it is correct because Jesus said so. Jesus said that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. And I believe He speaks to all people all over the world who hear and obey Him more or less.

“How is your version the correct one? How can you know? You are blind.”

It is not “my” version. It is the truth. I know because I seek the essence beyond the body. You are so obsessed with the body that you cannot see the essence, and you are blind in that aspect.

“I AM BLIND. WE’RE ALL BLIND. I’m sane enough to admit it.”

Yes, maybe you are sane enough to admit you are blind, but why aren’t you sane enough to understand what I am saying? You have asked the same question over and over, and we have had the same conversation over and over, yet you force yourself only to not to see my words in the true light because of your hatred for the Truth.

“Ahh but a buddhist will not get into BackCase’s heaven”

Once again you show your ignorance and indifference of everything I say. You just want to argue with and judge me, you do not know me, nor do you want to.

@backcase,
“They would not argue with me if they were truly positive believers.”

I like how you did not say “I wouldn’t argue with them if they were truly positive believers”

I think this response sums up my impression of you.

I will suppose that if all in that room based what they ‘believed’ on only recieved truth, then all would just sit there in silence since there would be nothing to say lol! Hence there would be no argument.

@vovinawol, I was actually thinking the same thing. But as linear beings we would all end up relating our human and supernatural experiences with each other.

I used to joke about people making impressions on the internet. @ijesuschrist you really have absolutely no idea how pathetic you are? Buddy.

@stett454, I agree that the saying “The Will of God” and submitting to that is incredibly vague, what does it really mean? Anyone can use such a statement to any agenda they want.

I personally believe in trusting your own sensibilities; I don’t know about anyone else, but I get this feeling when I am doing the wrong thing, so I try to figure out a way that I feel comfortable or justified in doing it.

There are things like following your heart, doing what you think or feel is the right thing, a logic, intuition or awareness of what you are doing and how it is or may be effecting others.

People may very much be culturally conditioned by religion, the Bible, role models and influences like those can have a serious impact on that inner sensibility, they may even replace it. A lot of religious dogma tells believers that their own sensibilities cannot be trusted, you have to give yourself over to this vague idea of the will of God, which usually means “Do what we tell you”.

But I believe it is not just a case of completely relying on that inner sensibility, but learning by research and empirical information about better ways to do things. The responsibility for YOU doing the right thing is yours, by following what others tell you to do and ignoring your own sensibilities, you can blame others for your bad behaviour, and I don’t think that is an acceptable excuse for people anymore.

It is about taking responsibility for your own life, learning discipline and self control while exploring enlightening applications for deeds, seeking wise practices of behaviour, trusting what sounds right to you, being the person you want to be and expressing it the best way you know how, living with passion, enjoying the ride, loving as much as you can, having confidence and respect for yourself yet always pushing yourself to grow as much as you can in understanding.

For us humans, I see GOD as a process. One of unfoldment.

@beyond, well youknow… to insult someone is regrettable. I only continue the “back and forth” writing if I am in peaceful spirits, otherwise it is a senseless argument. Gotta keep a certain calm and continue in wisdom.

@backcase, Tolerance. Sometimes it’s nowhere in sight.

[Hidden]
backcase (204) (@backcase) 7 years, 12 months ago ago

@beyond, yeah, but there is a virtue above tolerance. It’s called prudence and it is even more rare.

I would like to see it in everyone.

@beyond, Perhaps you should point out my flaws, rather than blindly insulting my intelligence constantly, yet never contributing anything yourself.

Your replies to me have often been useless, man, so why do you even do it? To make me feel bad? What is the point of this? And you call me pathetic. ITs getting ridiculous Sasho, you need to either say something to me, or quit this childish stuff, man up and say something useful or don’t say anything at all.

[Hidden]
Anonymous (2,654) (@) 7 years, 12 months ago ago

@ijesuschrist, I have no idea what you just said, seriously. How can I point out your flaws when you just told me you were not even paying attention to what I’m saying? Actually, forget about it, this is too stupid.

[Hidden]
Anonymous (2,833) (@) 7 years, 12 months ago ago

@beyond, Thats alright Sasho if you can’t understand me, though, you don’t need to constantly belittle me to try and make me feel bad for whatever reason. You can simply say “I don’t understand” rather than “You have no idea how pathetic you are do you?” which really gets nothing across.

If you want to reply to me, or talk to me, or whatever, at least add substance to your post, make it meaningful for me to read it, otherwise why are you doing it?

Anonymous (2,654) (@) 7 years, 12 months ago ago

@ijesuschrist, Hm, you are a weird guy. In my offensive statements I am showing more than simple, for fools to comprehend, that I won’t be needing to talk to you about anything. I don’t understand your arguments. Really, they confuse me. I’m just going to follow backcase’s advice for now, because you’re not making absolutely no sense and he is the religious one. Happy trails, Jon.

@backcase, “the True Religion is that of virtue.”

-The true virtue is that of freedom, love, and divinity.

“And I am sorry that cannot see that, but a big part of me tells me that you do not want to see that.”

-There is nothing that I wish to avoid seeing, and there is nothing in particular which I wish to see. I believe in nothing, I expect nothing. I just observe and act…

…as opposed to you, who’s zoomed in on a fantasy and tries to deflect anything that would shatter your illusion. It’s just a matter of time though, you can’t maintain your game forever.

“Peace to you, I will do as I have been doing on this site: Being respectful, kind, and truthful; shining light where there is darkness.”

-Preaching toxic nonsense is neither respectful nor kind, and getting further away from the truth than than a christian… now that’s a real challenge.

“All glory be to God through the Lord Jesus Christ, amen”

-All glory be to freedom and prosperity, through the actions of mankind.

@manimal, “-The true virtue is that of freedom, love, and divinity.”

There are many virtues, and the practice of virtue is the way of goodness and truth. Humility hold all virtues, so he who is humble has all other virtues.

The only other thing I have to say to you is that all life comes from God. And we will all have to answer God’s dreadful question: “What good have you done with the life I have given you?”

[Hidden]
Manimal (2,998) (@manimal) 7 years, 12 months ago ago

@backcase, You think you’re humble? That’s hilarious coming from a pretentious, arrogant, holier-than-thou internet crusader who claims to know everything.

Virtue… you’re all talk, no walk.
Small people talk of virtue, great people live it.

All life comes from electric currents and amino acids.
All gods come from the mind.

Tell me, what good have you done with the life you have been given?
Honestly?

@manimal, “You think you’re humble? That’s hilarious coming from a pretentious, arrogant, holier-than-thou internet crusader who claims to know everything.”

Excuse me, but I never called myself humble. You might want to read a bit more carefully and judge less quickly.

“Virtue… you’re all talk, no walk.
Small people talk of virtue, great people live it.”

How do you know? Who are you to judge?

“Small people talk of virtue”

Depends what you mean by small people. Because we can be talking about the humble here, those with hearts like children, who indeed live virtue. Or we can be talking about people who love praise and being respected, and love their high positions.

Many people who are little on earth are great in spirit, likewise many of those who are great on earth are dead to grace.

“All life comes from electric currents and amino acids.
All gods come from the mind.”

Those are just words. What makes electricity? What makes amino acids? What gives them their properties? What makes the mind?

“Tell me, what good have you done with the life you have been given?
Honestly?”

Nothing compared to what God has done for me, I am grateful with my life and repentant for each transgression.

@beyond, Then perhaps you can explain what parts do not make sense, then -again, rather than just empty insults.

I think I’ve made my point very clear – if you want to insult me, or if you want to belittle me, or if you want to plague me with negative responses, at least give them to me in a manner that I can grow from, that I can help you understand what I’m saying.

Thanks.
