Happiness

Anonymous (@) 8 years, 3 months ago

I was talking to my sister about a month ago and she said “everyone pretends to be contempt with how they’re living, but if you could do whatever you wanted what would you be doing now?”

I agree with that so much. It has me wondering, are any of you on High existence contempt with how you’re living, are any of you guy’s happy?

I am also aware that happiness and being contempt are not the same thing … continue.

I asked her “If you could do anything what would you be doing right now?” She said if she could be famous/ a celebrity she would. She’d also be living happily in Hawaii

What would you guy’s be doing if you could do anything?

@shomari, lol I’m assuming you mean content, not contempt, two very different things :)

I’m pretty happy with the way things are right now, I’m alive, I mean thats pretty damn good. If I could though I would love to be at a live music show right now, preferably a rave

I think in order to be happy you need to embrace and make the best of wherever you are.

Do you guys think rich celebrities ever wonder if they’d be happier with different circumstances that they don’t view as enjoyable prior to their present circumstances?
Doesn’t everything depend on the logistics?!
Do we have a soul purpose? How must we know what way to change into in order to achieve this?…(i tend to deeply get into things)

Put time and energy towards asking yourself what would make you content with your life, what makes you unhappy with it, what possible actions can be taken to change that – you’ll end up with a better idea about what is preventing you from living a content life. I’m totally content with my life, and if i could do anything, i’d be doing the same thing I am already doing/ going to do. Sure, some things are not realistically reachable, but it doesn’t mean being content is unreachable. You don’t have to be a celebrity to have what you think they have. Most people set an unattainable goal so they can talk themselves out of working hard towards their happiness. Its much easier to just complain that it is not possible and turn to believe it is not your fault you are not content with your existence. What would you be doing if you were to be content with your life? Well, that’s what you should do to cause that happiness to enter reality and the present moment.

@secretagentpeter Yes, But they’re just like everyone else when it comes down to it. I think they do it for the love of their craft and the money. I think that’s why people adore “celebrities” because it seems like they have a life purpose. But we don’t all wan’t the same things, some of us already have money or fulfilling purpose. We are all not born into the same existence either, some of us are born ill.

What is life’s purpose i think there might be an algorithm or logistics to it also, you know like sacred geometry or the truth.

@paintedbeings,

Your comment reeks of pessimism. Nothing is really unobtainable and once we acknowledge that the world will be such a better place. You talk about what one can achieve when for some people just eating a meal would be a great achievement.
Also for some reason i’m getting the idea people think this is about being a celebrity, please don’t chastise my sister. I asked you guy’s what you’re dreams are. It doesn’t matter what they are. It’s just life if you chose be a celebrity or a scientist It doesn’t matter to me.

The funny part is there is no guarantee in life people have plenty of reasonable and humble dreams they may never achieve. Dreams are all the same it really makes you wonder what’s the point. If you can’t have what you want while others can.

Why does it seem we are so powerless in achieving what we truly desire, To me this is the ultimate lie. Some people would have you believe the purpose of life is accepting what you can’t have/do. But nothing on this earth was placed here without a reason, we could al possibly have what we dream but i don’t think anyone really wants what i call the burden of the Sun and the moon, to live in perfect balance. Being relied upon.

When she asked if you could be doing what you wanted right now what would you be doing. I think she meant “would you?” If you could really have what you wanted, would you?

this correlates with a quote a read earlier “What you need will come to you, if you do not ask for what you do not need.”

It was also about honesty, If you could be doing what you wanted RIGHT NOW! What would you be doing? The truth is everything.

I bet she would be a good celebrity, how could she not> She had the answer. In fact asked her what she would do if she won the lottery the other day and guess what she said?
“i’d be famous” I hope she’s famous one day she really want’s to be.

P.S. don’t ask why we have silly conversations. Were dreamers.

@shomari, hey, I don’t know what you found pessimistic about what I’ve said, but oh well. And I was being honest – I just happen to be doing what I wanted to be doing, that’s all – I have all I ever wanted, honestly. I’m really confused about how you interpreted my answer. If it seemed discouraging, it is only because I was trying to make a point that dreams take action, and if a person deems them unachievable they won’t take the action therefore possibly removing the possibility of having what they wanted/ living what they wanted. It was about application to present situation, not being hopeless.

@shomari, and maybe i should share the origin of my comment – I guess i assumed too much about others. The reason I shared this bit is I used to lock myself out of living the life where I’d find myself being content thinking it is not possible and is a dream until many years later figuring out that if I applied myself to actually having it, I could be happy. Also, you contradict yourself a few times there, so I’m overall confused about what you’re trying to say but by no means was I trying to be pessimistic. I’m a very content person, and I wish for others to be the same and see the possibility of being content as reality they should give themselves.

@paintedbeings, It’s not really that big of a deal, hope i didn’t offend and i thought somewhere i contradicted myself but i didn’t care to fix it.

I think happyness shouldnt be a goal… I think it should be something you achieve along the way while living a good life… It really isnt a bad thing to be unhappy sometimes… Otherwise you wouldnt be aware of happyness anymore… Just try to be thankfull for periods of unhappyness to.. It shows that you are human…

Our society is all about being happy all the time… Everyone needs everything and we are all working our asses of to maintain our lifes to create this artificial and material sorth of happyness.. On commercials you see the perfect couples in their perfect lifes… But there is no such thing…

Everyone is talking about what they really want… But no one has the guts to really do it… Bcs we’re to affraid to let go of solid ground..

Everyone wants to fit in society and thats where unhappyness starts…

@shomari, I have to say that I am content right now, and I am also happy, but I also feel that I would rather be living the lifestyle of a musician than anything right now. Not a famous musician, not someone with millions and millions of dollars, but a part of the reggae scene, small time band on the come up. I want to be a songwriter/guitarist for the band and I want to travel the country, live out of hotels and the van with some of my closest friends. I probably should have had this dream 10 years ago lol.

Back to my real life though, I work at home (my job is boring as fuck and very monotonous) but since I work at home I dont have to deal with an asshole boss, and I can work in my pajamas all day instead of having to shave daily, put on a suit and suck up to someone (epitome of my previous job). So theres are those pros and cons. To add to it, my girl can work anywhere in the country for her job (3 months at a time) so we are traveling. Now were in MD and headed out to Colorado in 2 weeks.

So I think we all have parts of our lives that make us happy, parts that we just deal with for one reason or another and then some parts that we dislike. The point is to minimize/eliminate the parts you dont like and increase the things you do love that make you happy.
