hidden agenda of Obama's gun control..any thoughts?

Chase (@chaselang19) 9 years, 8 months ago

Ive recently came across several articles on Alex Jones’ that present the possibility of a hidden agenda to gun control and shootings like Sandy Hook, where the government may be preparing to disarm the people. Due to the possibility of full economic crash or a WW3 scenario between the U.S. and Russia, Iran, China, etc., the government may want to have full control of us. Might sound a little wild but I’m curious if anyone else out there has heard anything similar.

Alex Jones is completely insane, and I suspect if you are both a HEthen and an Alex Jones fan, you are merely a contrarian, because there is no way anybody can take that guy seriously if they’re being objective.

@epath, People forget that the same people who wrote the constitution just committed genocide and now were causing a bloody uprising against their own country with the help of guns. So should it be our faith in the law or our faith in the goodness of people because to me they are both out to get us.

Don’t presume I’m anti-gun, because I’m not, I’m anti-irresponsible-ownership, there is a big difference. You could say death is the #1 killer of all Americans and that is a bigger issue than guns, but to promote absolute freedom with guns then compare murder to suicide is contradictory, people have a free right to kill themselves and will find a way with or without guns if they are serious. From what I remember, Japan has plenty of guns but suicide is far more common than in the states, but suicide by gun is relatively rare.
Another thing is, yes heart disease and smoking cause premature deaths, but they also kill senior citizens, at some point you have to acknowledge that no matter how the elderly die, it is natural causes. As I said, a 90 year old smoker dies of heart failure, I chalk that down to wear and tear.
No one wants to die, except suicides, these statistics only tell us that there are already enough ways to die, you want to lower the amount of ways, not add to them. People have addictions that get out of control, either over-eating, smoking, alcohol or drugs, but that is self inflicted and people try to intervene for these people everyday. Being murdered by a gun is not a lifestyle choice.
I don’t know about other people, but I have made a few mistakes in my day, I’m glad no one blew my brains out for it, but there are some very malicious bags of shit out there and I definitely think they should be taken into account as far as gun control goes.
I don’t think guns should be stopped but I do think that it does have one correlation to car accidents, generally people who drive cars have a license that they need to complete a series of tests and provisional periods of time, if they didn’t imagine how much worse car accident stats would be?

Shooting an assault rifle? Why? It’s “fun?” Go play a video game. With the abundance of these guns out there, soon, someday, there will be a shooting near you. We DO NOT NEED ASSAULT RIFLES unless Genghis Khan is out there. You want to fight against the government? You mean you want to commit treason? Grow up.

Conspiracy theorists, please see a psychiatrist.

I managed to get halfway through this thread before I was no longer able to refrain from banging my head against a wall. There are no conspiracy theories at all and Alex Jones is a calculated businessman who profits on people’s fear.

The second amendment allows for an individual to protect themselves with guns; you do not need assault weapons in order to protect yourself, and it just lunacy for one individual to have so much power without being checked that they will use that firepower responsibly.

Some of the more right-wing people seem to think they need guns to protect themselves from ‘evil’ government. If a tyranical government did transpire, why don’t you just move country, you surely wouldn’t want to live in America anyway, and you can live in a country where school children don’t get mown down by bullets whilst at school.

@stryder, Generally you don’t need guns to protect yourself, if you simply advertize that you do have a gun, even if you don’t, then this deters the majority of people who may target you. It is called “Puffer-fish tactic” you inflate yourself to seem larger than you are and the bigger fish don’t try to eat you.

Don’t people argue about a book written a long time ago that other people like to live their lives by? Does anyone see the similarity here?

Besides, this just isn’t something happening in America right now. It’s becoming a world event/change. Maybe we will see a world government soon enough. Whether that is a good or bad thing..no one really knows. There will be more world peace, but power will be unlimited and much harder to attain.

@chaselang19, (and to anyone who thinks we need our guns).

Guess what? Even if we had guns, we could never EVER take over the government. They have drones. They don’t even need to be near us. They could be in luxurious room, sipping on some whisky and smoking a cigar, and use a laptop to control a drone. Not only that, but they have… Bombs. Helicopters. Fighter Jets. They have everything. We got jack shit.

What we do have though, is an idea. That they cannot kill. The idea that what is currently going on is wrong. The idea that we are all love deep, deep down and together we can create a new world, one that is worth living in. One that is free and beautiful. We don’t need guns for that. Grow your own food and create your own energy.

Boom!

@blankey, I like your point that assault rifles won’t ‘win’ a civil war for the civilians. The military is far beyond assault rifles, and honestly, the civilians of America will never have enough firepower to overthrow, or even protect themselves from, the government, if it so chooses to turn against its people.

That being said, let’s imagine a situation where the government does turn to a police state, or martial law is declared, or the government straight up turns on its people.

Who would be the person puling the trigger to kill me? Wouldn’t it be a member of the US army? A fellow citizen who most likely took their post to protect their family and fellow Americans? I have never once met a member of the Army, Marines, Air Force, etc. who joined the military in order to kill Americans. At worst, it was to kill foreigners. I just can’t see the people of America enabling the government to control them into mass murder. I think we have all learned that if individuals within Germany’s military would have refused to execute Hitler’s orders, then perhaps the Holocaust could have been avoided.

The military consists of citizens, and yet, we think the military would turn upon its citizens. This just seems like an oxymoron to me.

There’s obviously more to Obama’s gun control than meets the eye. Yes, irresponsible gun owners can and do kill people. Yes, a gun allows a person to kill a lot of other people. But Obama’s plan is more than just ‘control’, its disarmament. Hear me out;

1) After Sandy Hook, Obama announced that ‘gun control’ would be a main goal of his second term. What? After an entire year of election coverage, why didnt he say this before? Why was it suddenly a big deal, and why does it require the “full weight” of his administration? Why wasnt this his promise after the Aurora and Sikh temple shootings? The Sandy Hook ‘conspiracy’ has not been debunked, regardless of whether or not a self proclaimed amazing atheist posted an unsuccessful video saying otherwise. Didnt any of you see his leaked pics a while ago? haha, dont take him too seriously.

2) Why is it that during all of this the Department of Homeland Security is stocking up on bullets at an unprecedented rate? surely even a die hard skeptic can……. (1/2)

[Hidden]
Mosesonator (52) (@mosesonator) 9 years, 7 months ago ago

…..(2/2) recognize the hypocrisy? how can a person actually defend a group taking your weapons while stockpiling their own? look at history: disarmament is the hallmark of a tyrant.

3) 9/11 was used as a platform for the Patriot Act, which trampled the constitution. Now ‘urgent’ legislation is being passed on an event that is still being heavily and reasonably questioned. Surely we can all see the similarities? The disputed official story, the immediate legislatve response, and how neatly this all fits in with the NWO and Agenda 21.

The issue isnt whether you believe in gun control, its whether or not you can recognize that the US government is trying to disarm its people.

On a somewhat related note, the US now considers civil disobedience (ie Occupy protests) to be forms of domestic terrorism.

Just some food for thought.

@ancientmystic, Well, actually, a lot of soldiers and police say they will follow orders no matter what, which constitutes them as brainwashed. In fact, there is a thread I made on that same idea.

@epath, The government creates the drug lords power by regulating drugs the way they do and regardless of me and my friends having clean fun the drug lords will be able to get assault rifles. They use machetes, should we take away the ability to clear a path through the jungle. How about we ban everything that could possibly used for an explosive? or take away peoples rights to use airplanes because we could hijack them. Drunk drivers probably kill more people than guns in america but we arent taking away alcohol or cars. Im really not sure what you are asserting towards me? Bow down?

@chaselang19,

Doesn’t matter what their hidden agenda may be. All you have to do is understand one thing about human nature (and look at history):

You cannot keep people down. You cannot chain them, oppress them, and control them forever. Whatever stupid plan the gov’t may have, it will fail them. All kingdoms (governments) collapse and fall over a long enough period of time. They let the power get to their head.

Humans strive for freedom. I recognize this in myself and I do not worry for our future. Either we free ourselves or we all fall down together.

[Hidden]
pat (169) (@epath) 9 years, 7 months ago ago

@winsliw that has been going on a long time not Obama’s fault. No not just machete’s. anyway I support legalization of drugs. If you want to justify 8000 gun deaths because you need recreation then fine. Yeah cars kill people but we also register cars and license them and owners. Ownership is a privilege and right but also a responsibility. I am all for gins protection and hunting rights but not assault rifles because their purpose is to kill ripple no matter how you personally use them. If however you want tan armed rebellion, please go after the bankers and big corporations, especially those like Koch Bros who have launched an assault on what is left if the intelligence of the country

We live and we die inevidably, why are people afraid? The government may come to your house and kill you? Yep but guess what, they are wasting effort to do that because you would die anyway. You are worried the government will come and enslave you and rape your children? Well no matter what situation you are in, you will have a shit life anyway.
You talk about freedom, but that’s all it is, talk. What are you fighting for? Words, that’s all.
But there is a phase of consciousness that is impervious, you escape all pain and you live the life you want, even if you are under the boot of tyranny, there is a state of being that is elevated and cannot be put down.
A thousand generations can live under oppression this way and outlast the captors, who are dead in their hearts anyway. What do the oppressors have that you don’t? Nothing worthwhile. People who fear oppression deserve to be oppressed, people who do not fear oppression never will be oppressed, even when they are.
