Hope…. an Illusion?

MC PRTK (@mc.prtk) 8 years, 1 month ago

For the past five months, I have been trying to accomplish a task, trying to do it every week, failing every day, going back again the next day, knowing fully well that success is much higher than failure. This has been my routine, my obsession. Today, I suffered a serious setback, and all the mental pep talk I gave myself felt unnecessary… I looked around to see my life in disarray….. saw all my efforts being futile…. After a long long time, it felt empty inside….. Is my hope my illusion?

Being skillful at things takes different amounts of time for different people. And you will face many obstacles and setbacks. That does not mean reaching your ultimate goal is an illusion. It just mean you are moving ahead. So keep moving, till you reach it.

@mc-prtk, new beginning are often disguised as painful endings. In this life, nothing will come at a cheap cost. Like we so often hear: you get what you pay for.

There is no shortcut. But, you can do one thing – know that you cannot control anything but your own thoughts. The mind is everything, you think therefore you become. But have some Faith brother. You are not alone – as above so below: we are all struggling through the same predicament. But know that we all have your back, and the YOU-niverse and its unlimited potential lies dormant within your spirit.

Oh and most importantly: never expect anything. Go about life in complete presence. The past is history, the future is a mystery, and this moment is a gift – that’s why they call it the Present.

@universal-duality, I feel like maybe you already read this, but it doesn’t hurt to try. Truthcontest.com The Present with Religion

@mc-prtk
, Keep going, I am in your same shoes although frustrating, if you really love what you’re doing there is no such thing as failure.

I am currently learning to produce music as well as play the piano. Not easy… but hey I rather give it my all then to regret not following a passion.

@mc-prtk, Hope isn’t an illusion it’s a mystery. But mysteries are supposed to be uncovered aren’t they?

your mother is an illusion.

@mc-prtk
, think about it this way. you can hope that your efforts will pay off, but that never means that they necessarily will. they may, or they may not. such is life

@mc-prtk,

Your perception and understanding of the world is experienced threw your five senses(maybe more if your aware of hidden metaphysical senses). All the knowledge that “you”(who ever you is) have of the world isn’t directly experienced by you, but perceived threw your senses. In which, how do you know what the outside world is really like? In a sense…… everything is an illusion. Objective to your senses you don’t know what the outside world is like or if it even exist.

I don’t think hope is an illusion. Anything can happen right? Wanting one of those things to happen is a desire, not an illusion.

@mc-prtk, I couldn’t say when, where, why the subject of “hope” became “clear” to me…just that now, when I say the word or hear it used, I no longer accept it as in any way positive or encouraging…it sounds to me just weak and wishful…and really I think that IS what is being expressed. The only time “hope” might be a useful idea or emotion is in a condition where a person is completely powerless…so I suppose it is a suitable substitute for hopelessness…better to feel the illusion of hope and it’s optimism than the devastating negativity of hopelessness. Still, in my experience what seems true is that if you pass through hopelessness, what follows, if you don’t panic and grab onto “hope” to keep yourself afloat…what follows is a more honest and real recognition of what is needed to accomplish your goal and the realization of exactly WHO is responsible for making it happen…

@mc-prtk, Every time you fail you grow a little, maybe that is in becoming better at it for next time, but some times it just means growing personally, in acceptance, discovering who you are, tests of faith either forge us or break us, but to keep that in perspective, to realise an obsession is not as vital to your being as you may credit it.

Ray Butler (1,423)M (@trek79) 8 years, 1 month ago ago

@mc-prtk, People lose faith, and they survive it, they learn it is comfortable but not vital, and in knowing that they can either find it again or live without it. But I’d say use it as a tool, not as a foundation of identity, use it to cushion blows but not as the be all and end all of your existence.

I can understand where you’re coming from.

This infinite energy inside all of us has never been witnessed objectively .. So why does anyone chose to believe in this ?

We believe in science, Religion, Television … We’ll believe in anything even the universe, but all we’ve ever seen is the sky.

If you tell a child santa clause exist does he ? No. He never exist, only in the mind
The child might think he dose because you told him so but that doesn’t means santa clause ever exist.

Could a child possibly ever think santa into existence ? Yes on paper or trough an artistic medium. If that child actually see’s santa clause he would be delusional. What i’m trying to say is

Schizophrenia is a serious brain illness. Many people with schizophrenia are disabled by their symptoms.

People with schizophrenia may hear voices other people don’t hear. They may think other people are trying to hurt them. Sometimes they don’t make any sense when they talk. The disorder makes it hard for them to keep a job or take care of themselves.

Haha good day fellows

“your mother is an illusion” Truly remarkable.

Holding on hope isn’t a good idea. It doesn’t encourage acting upon what you’re hoping for. But it does encourage to act upon what you’re hopeful for. I tend to make a huge difference between those two words. Maybe expectation is an illusion.
