So, how do you make your life more exciting/more interesting? I’ve been bored for a while now and I want change!
(Don’t mention things that need lots of money, eg: travelling.)
Is it trying new food? Doing random acts of kindness…? Share!

@THEDM, Do psychedelics like DMT, Ayahuasca Tea, Shrooms etc.
Psychedelics are not recreational drugs, they are to be taken seriously and set & setting is crucial. You can have a spiritual experience w/psychedelics.
Exploring your mind is always exciting.
@THEDM, go for a walk and just look at stuff. If you see a dead tree, stare at it and think of the life it could have had. If you see an old lady, stare at her and think of the life she could have had before now, and think of all the things she could still do, despite her age. If you don’t see anything interesting at all, imagine that you do.
Back a couple of years ago, everywhere I went I forced myself to imagine a pink elephant called Acapella, and it could grow and shrink and jump around and sing and stuff. Now, I still catch a glimpse of him dancing around occasionally.
Anyway, yeah. I’m sure I had something else to add…
I’ll let you know if I remember.
@insanity, I like that. I do that all the time actually, I go for walks and look up and try to see ships and beasts in the clouds. Or I imagine cities of miniature creatures in the trees that ride around on flying insects.
@THEDM, I’d try to find a new hobby. Do you like to draw, or write, play an instrument, bike ride, rollerblade, or anything like that? I know you said no things that require money, but have you ever wanted a certain kind of pet? Just some ideas.
@THEDM, I agree with @arenofnote. Not traveling because of money is not an excuse. There are cheap ways to travel. I’m not saying you have to travel the globe because yes, that takes a lot of money. But you could take long bike rides and discover new areas around your town that you’ve never seen before because you don’t think about it. I really like doing that. There are parts of my city that I’ve never seen and I take bike rides around. It’s better than a car too because you can take your time and you’re not concentrated on driving. Take a short trip out to the wild and go for a hike or camp out. You don’t realize how much driving can take away from your alertness and your wonder. You experience so much and notice so much more when you are able to look around without having to worry about driving.
I found one of the funnest things I did was grab my iPhone (with video functunationality) and go up to people in the street saying I am doing a documentary, you mind if I ask you some questions. 50% of them say yes, and you just ask them things. Often you can go straight into asking them deep philosophical questions because it isn’t at all a normal social situaition.
I did this and I found it great for a number of reasons..1) because it was fucking scary and i was facing fear every time i did it, and 2) so often i would end up having a great conversation with the person.
Go for it man. I haven’t even cut what I got together, I just did it and enjoyed it.
Thanks for all of your replies guys!
@mmagg23, I know what you mean, but Cairo is very unsafe at the moment so I can’t just take bike rides and go anywhere if you know what I mean :) Also, I have obligations like school or whatnot, the minute summer hits in I WILL be travelling, that’s for sure. Thank you xx
@THEDM, Make a switch in your regular routine. Keep it new and fresh.
I get pumped when it comes to writing. There are endless possibilities when it comes to it. Pick a topic that interests you. Write about it. How are you feeling one particular morning? Write about it. Go out and capture an event or a moment in words, as opposed to a photograph (inspired by Niel Peart, drummer for Rush, who captured one of his travels, strictly in words.)
If you cant travel somewhere far, how about your own hometown. I bet there are specific places and areas that you are not familiar with. Play tourist and explore your town from end to end. And hey, why not combine the two and write about it!
@THEDM, Yes I understand. Other suggestions is to do things you normally wouldn’t do. Try new foods, search for new music, try new activities or sports. I find those to be helpful too. If you’re stuck inside and really bored, go on Stumbleupon. That’s my last resort when I’m at the lowest level of boredom.
@cloudstuck, I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this! You have no idea ahahaha.
Yet again, doing things like that in Egypt would get me in trouble. But it’s amazing :)
@THEDM, Are you close enough to visit any of the tombs or sites around there? There’s a really cool area that had volcanic rock that’s been effected somehow by microwaves..?
It’s made it so the rock on one side is literally falling apart. I’d love to see something like that with my own eyes.
Just a thought :)
I’ve recently learned the secret of life and since then I have no fears, I am happy all the time and I ignore all the bad feelings and negative energy from certain persons…
I’m unemployed, young and I live with my parents…but I finally have the time to become a child again so I got back to my passion in art and all sorts of creativity…I just got back from a 500 km long journey. I saw the beaches and mountains, rivers and forests. I walked barefoot on the beach and I got stuck in the snow…in a week I have experienced all forces of nature (even the earthquake)…I didn’t pay anything from my pocket because I don’t have money…HOW DID THAT HAPPENED? Because I wanted :D and I know that in about two months I will get a job, not because of money (money doesn’t mean anything to me) but because I have to go away from my home to find something…
